Bible Reading Challenge For You

Bible Reading Challenge For You

There is nothing much more beautiful in the world that an old person loving God and the word of God. Don’t you just love old people who shines through God’s love despite everything? I would love to be like that when I grow old! I want my Bible to be this worn out! I want to keep my Bible close to hand anywhere and everywhere I go. Are you with me?

I have a New Years challenge for you and your friends and family. I dare you to read through the whole Bible in 2010! Our household is going to do it. Why don’t you join us? It means that you need to read three chapters per day and five chapters on Sunday. (Or two chapters a day and 3 chapters on Sundays to read the Bible through in two years.) That is not so much, is it? There are many online tools to help you out if you are interested in those or even Bibles organized in a fashion to be read in a year or two if you prefer. Probably the most important thing is to read one chapter from the New Testament and one from the Old testament every day. Expect God to speak to you in wonderful new ways as you systematically read through the Bible. I would be honored if you let me know how you are doing and what kind of insights you are having. I try to do the same.

Gracious God,
Thank you for your precious word!
Thank you for inviting us further in your word.
Bless us as we start this year long adventure.
Give us your Holy Spirit to guide us and teach us.
Surprise us, speak to us, enhance our faith along the way.
Call us back if we stray away.
Thank for this opportunity.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
