Silence & Solitude: Ways to Know God

Silence & Solitude: Ways to Know God

“What were we made for?
To know God.
What aim should we set ourselves in life?
To know God.
What is the best thing in life, bringing joy, delight and contentment than anything else?
Knowledge of God.
Once you become aware that the main business that you are here for is
to know God,
most of life’s problems fall into place of their own accord.”
J.I. Packer

Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10, NIV)

In order to know God and God’s will we need to find time for silence and solitude. It’s not a once-in-a-life-time nor once-a-year thing. But it is at its best a once-a-day opportunity to get to know God. Everything else falls into its place then.

“Do not have your concert first and tune your instruments afterward. Begin the day with God.”~ Hudson Taylor

“No one can sum up all God is able to accomplish through one solitary life, wholly yielded, adjusted, and obedient to Him.”~D.L. Moody

Gracious God,
Enable us to be still.
Quiet our minds to center around you.
Open our hearts to listen to you.
Bless us with your presence.
Fill us with your peace &
Equip us to serve you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
