Before the Morning

Before the Morning

It’s Melodic Monday! I’m really excited about today’s song: Before the Morning by Josh Wilson. It hits perfectly my mood of singing and dancing before the Lord. No matter what we are going through today or at this point of our lives there’s better things in store for us. Hold on, dare to believe and keep on singing! Do you wonder why you have to,feel the things that hurt you,if there’s a God who loves you, where is He now? Maybe,…

Rethink Life with Jesus Christ

Rethink Life with Jesus Christ

How would your life be different if you would dare to “live as if Christ died yesterday, rose this morning, and is coming back tomorrow “(Martin Luther)? This question has been staying with me for quite a long time now. We are all called to rethink our life with Jesus Christ. Are we fully following him? Would you be ready to state like Jack Hyles “I’d rather die in the will of God than to live outside of it”? Paul…

Sea of Anxiousness vs. Peace Like a River?

Sea of Anxiousness vs. Peace Like a River?

“Lean on thyself until thy strength is tried; Then ask God’s help; it will not be denied.” (Ella Wheeler Wilcox) Yes, when asked God’s help will not be denied. But why to wait until our strength is gone? Why to wait until we’re so anxious that we can’t think straight anymore? Through trial and error I’ve learned to cut the chase and go right away to God. “I know, God, that mere mortals    can’t run their own lives,That men and…

How to Deal with Dirt in Life?

How to Deal with Dirt in Life?

Life is sometimes really yucky. Sometimes it feels that all we do is shoveling dirt. How to conquer the mount of dirt in our lives? How to respond to all the dirt thrown our way? One thing is sure. If we store inside of us all the accusations or wrong doings we’ve experienced  we will burst or, at least, feel yucky. We need to learn to deal with the dirt in our lives. Otherwise we will drown in it. My…

Yippee – There’s Room at the Lord’s Table!

Yippee – There’s Room at the Lord’s Table!

At church this Sunday our family was waiting for our turn to kneel to receive communion/blessing. When there finally was room for us our 3-year old daughter said very enthusiastically “Yippee!” It made us smile but got me thinking about our attitude towards God’s amazing gifts. Do we run to Jesus? Do we shout “Yippee” when there’s room at the Lord’s Table? Are we excited about recieving God’s blessings?  The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them….

Praise You in This Storm

Praise You in This Storm

It’s Melodic Monday! Today’s song is Praise You in This Storm by Casting Crowns. The words are written by Mark Hall and music by Mark Hall and Bernie Herms. I chose this song (other than it’s a great one!) to open up this week at Flowing Faith blog. I will be talking about how to deel with bad stuff in life (exception: tomorrow’s post will be a blog carnival entry). This song tells the essential: God is there no matter…

Praising the Lord with Psalms

Praising the Lord with Psalms

God—you’re my God! I can’t get enough of you!    I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God,       traveling across dry and weary deserts. So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open,       drinking in your strength and glory.    In your generous love I am really living at last!       My lips brim praises like fountains.    I bless you every time I take a breath;       My arms wave like banners of praise to you.(Psalm 63:1-5, MSG) Today I just…

Walking in Faith: A Step at a Time

Walking in Faith: A Step at a Time

Often I am asked how to be faithful in the Christian walk. People think there is some sort of magical formula that you need to know. But, no, there isn’t. Christian walk is far easier than that. It’s waking up in the morning and greeting God with “Good morning, Daddy! What do you want me to do today?” and ending our day with “Thank you, Jesus!”. Our lives get in step with God and all others by letting him set…

Look at Your Life! Look Again!

Look at Your Life! Look Again!

Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”   This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. (Haggai 1:5-7, NIV) Doesn’t this sound just like the…
