Mind Your Step!

Mind Your Step!

Airports can be fascinating places. Lots of opportunities for people watching for sure. But they can be very stressful places, too. People are weary, ready to be somewhere else. Walkways are long and fatigue is almost always present. But all of that is part of traveling or getting from the place A to the place B.

Moving walkways are attempts to make travellers journeys a bit easier. Sometimes I take them, sometimes I am happy  to walk between so many hours of sitting. But I still can hear the automatic voice saying “Mind your step!” when approaching an end of a moving walkway. Very annoying to say the least. But when you think of it maybe we all should have an inner voice warning us of upcoming dangers or alerting us of opportunities not to miss. Too easily we sleepwalk through the life.

   Wake up from your sleep,
   Climb out of your coffins;
   Christ will show you the light!
So watch your step. Use your head.
Make the most of every chance you get.
These are desperate times! (Eph. 5:12, MSG)

Life is a journey. We can help out fellow travellers on their journey and ease each other’s burdens. We need to mind our steps but we are not alone. God is there every step of the way. “Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.”(Ronald Reagan)

Gracious God,
Bless us on our journey towards you.
Guard our hearts against all evil and
guide us to use our heads.
Enable us to be fully alive and
equip us to serve others.
Let us feel your lovingkindness.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
