Does It Really Matter What I Choose Today?

Does It Really Matter What I Choose Today?

What do you think? Does it really matter what you choose today? The world is big, you are small…does it really matter what you choose today? I dare to say yes. It does matter what we do each day. It does matter what we choose. Why?

Because each choice we make changes us into one direction or another. Yes, you can’t see or feel the difference today but in five years time you can already see or feel it. It does matter what we do. It does matter what we choose.

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. (Philippians 4: 6-7, MSG)

So. Are you for the good or are you for the bad? Are you for the beautiful or for the ugly? You need to choose your side. Are you for God or are you for the other guy? Yes, you need to make a choice. If we faithfully continue to make choices towards God we will slowly but surely be transformed. If we faithfully choose good over bad, prayer over worry, truth over lies we will be changed for good. If we faithfully choose Jesus day after day we will become more Christ-like.

Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.(Philippians 4: 6-9; MSG)

Gracious God,
We want to choose you.
Today, tomorrow, forever.
Strengthen us to choose wisely.
Change us to become more like you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

  1. Yes, it matters. Our choices determine direction. Direction determines destination.

    God bless you!
