My Goals for Embracing More Fully the Promises of God

My Goals for Embracing More Fully the Promises of God

Did you make resolutions for 2011? I did not. Or, at least, I think they’re not resolutions but goals  to more fully embrace the promises of God. You see, we just come from celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ that was so wonderfully promised in the Old Testament. (Just see Isaiah 9:1-7.) I am fully convinced that everything else God has promised to us will happen in God’s time. So I am boldly stepping into 2011 trusting God to take care of us and to deliver all his promises to us. Jesus is the Light of the World. There is nothing to be afraid of. Our God is an awesome God.

Here are my goals for 2011:

By God’s grace I will

1) pray often, listen keenly & obey readily so I can be more aware of God’s actions &
more alert to God’s presence.
2) read attentively the Word, embrace openly the lessons & truly surrender to service so I can grow in God’s grace & be trained for God’s purposes.
3) believe strongly God’s messages, trust easily his promises & let purposefully the lies of the world go so I can freely live the abundant life of a child of God.
4) fight fearlessly against the enemy, act courageously according to God’s guidance & focus solely on God so I can be living out God’s grace & peace.

Gracious God,
Come and abide in me.
May you increase and I decrease.
May your will happen in my life.
Nothing else, nothing more, nothing less.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: What would you add? What would you change?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you find your way to live out your faith in 2011! Happy New Year!

  3. Hi Mari-Anna, I am visiting your Blog for the first time as my daughter suggested. I am so glad I did because I am enjoying it so much. Some of your goals for 2011 reminds me of the ones I have purposed to do as well: 1)To keep reading my Bible each morning and pray; 2) to put on the whole armor of God that I may be able to stand against the firey darts of the devil, daily; 3) and to stay grounded in the word and represent him in my daily living. Thanks so much for this wonderful opportunity to share my love for the King with you.
