Do You Let Jesus Carry Your Burdens?

Do You Let Jesus Carry Your Burdens?

Do you let Jesus carry your burdens? Or do you still carry them on your own? Is your faith only intellectual or have you really let Jesus rule your heart? Do you trust Jesus to carry your burdens? Do you let Christ serve you, give you true freedom? Or do you still suffer alone?

But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—
our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
We thought he brought it on himself,
that God was punishing him for his own failures.
But it was our sins that did that to him,
that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins!
He took the punishment, and that made us whole.
Through his bruises we get healed.
We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost.
We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way.
And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong,
on him, on him. (Isaiah 53: 4-6; MSG)

The fact really is, it was our pains he carried. Our sins. Through his pain and bruises we get healed. If we let him. If we let him to enter our hearts, our lives, our pains. If let him to take them for good. If we let him work his miracles in our lives. If we let him to see how dark it is inside us, how sick we really are. But the truth is he already knows everything. He knows we need him, he knows we need salvation, he knows we need healing, he knows we need light, he knows we need someone to carry our burdens.

Jesus already carried everything on the cross. How does this affect my everyday life? Do I let Jesus to carry everything that bothers me? Do I let Jesus to heal me? Do I let Jesus to be the master of my life? Do I let Christ to enter my life or do I try to fix it on my own? Do I let Jesus to enter my heart and make a clean sweep? Do I let God to use his resurrection power in my life? Do I let Jesus to carry my burdens? Do I let Jesus to be my Messiah?

Gracious God,
Forgive me for ever thinking I could save my self.
Forgive me for ever trying to carry my own burden.
Forgive me for not letting you be my Messiah.
Come, Jesus, be my Lord and Master!
Yes, make me whole and bring me home!
Take my burdens and give me joy!
Take my sins and give me Jesus!
Take my past and give me future!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

  1. Truth of the matter is, this is an arena that I struggle with the most.. handing all my cares and concerns over to The ONLY ONE that can truly take care of them ALL! And then not picking them up again is a whole other realm once I have managed to place them at the foot of The Cross. Thanks for this reminder though. It helps to see it in front of me, that way I can’t ignore it. : ) God Bless you sister!!! THANK GOD FOR HIS MERCY SEAT!

    1. Thank you so much, sweet sister, for sharing! It is indeed a faith journey we are on! But we are not alone, we have other sisters and brothers on the way but -most of all- God is with us! 🙂 God bless you richly!

  2. I pray that God takes my burdens and helps me overcome them because I just know I need his help when dealing with those kind of situations. Hes our healer and will heal us from those burdens if we take them to the cross and let him deal with the matter!

  3. I Have to let GOD rule over my life instead of me trying to figure out the way. Sometimes I just sit and wonder what is my true purpose, I have even prayed about it. Im reading A Book Called “Purpose Driven Life”. Its Spiritual Based with Daily Steps you take into finding your Gifts and How you can please the Lord In Using Them.

  4. Yes, it is not so easy to know God’s will in your life. But surrendering to God is the best place to start finding it. “Purpose Driven Life” is a good book. The main thing is to pray! Be blessed, Tabitha, as you search for God’s guidance!
