God Keeps His Promises for You!

God Keeps His Promises for You!

Waiting on God is hard.

But I have learned that it is wise to wait for God’s timing.

I have also learned that God’s word is truly trustworthy.

God does not break his promises. God can’t break his word. Because he is God.

When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—bless and bless and bless!” Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.
(Hebrews 6: 13-17, MSG)

The Bible is our treasure. We can read about God’s people living out the promises of God. It is comforting to see how they, too, struggled while waiting on God. But we can also see how wonderfully God fulfilled his promises to them on his time.

The Bible is our treasure also for proclaiming God’s promises for us, too. We can be certain that God will keep his promises to us, too. This gives us peace and hope to press on no matter how impossible our situation might seem right now.

The Bible declares God’s plan for us and reveals how it is unfolding day by day in this world. God means what he says and he will keep his word. Even if it looks like things would be out of control we can trust that all is well and according to his plan.

We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 6: 18-20, MSG)

We sure have every reason to grab the promised hope in Jesus with both hands and never let go. There is nothing eternal this world can give us. But God can give us everything we need. Jesus is our unbreakable spiritual lifeline. He will guide us back home to God. He will show us the way, he will be the way.

God has promised to take care of us.
God has promised to be with us until the end of the world.
God has promised to save us and give us life and more life.
We can count our lives on these promises. God’s word does not change.

God won’t break his promises to you. You can rest on his arms today and forever. Bask in his love and grace. He will never let you go!

Gracious God,
Strengthen the voice of eternity within us.
Enable us to stake our whole lives on your promises.
Let us feel your everlasting arms around us.
Give us your peace, your patience to wait for your timing.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Is it hard for you to trust God’s promises while waiting?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you stake your life on Jesus!
