Why Was Jesus Born?

Why Was Jesus Born?

Even Christians don’t always understand why Jesus had to be born. Couldn’t God just love us without fussing about old sins? There really wasn’t other way to make us right with him. God is holy and he wants us to be holy, too. We needed a redeemer and it had to be a human being. But nobody could do it. So God sent his only son to the world.

Christ was chosen before the creation of the world, but was only revealed at the end of time. This was done for you, who through Christ are faithful to the God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory. So now, your faith and hope should rest in God. (1 Peter 1: 20-21, CEB, emphasis added)

Jesus was born to carry our sins on the cross.
Jesus was born to be killed on the cross…
and raised from the the death on the third day.

So we could be made right with God.
So we could have life and more life.

Jesus came for YOU.
So you could have grace upon grace.
So you could have hope everlasting.
So you could have never ending joy.

That is the reason for the season.

Celebrate it!
Embrace it!
Live it!

REVEL in CHRIST!

Gracious God,
Help us to remember the reason of the season.
Help us to keep you in the center of our celebrations.
Help us to rejoice in only you.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Amen

Q4U: How do you celebrate the reason of the season?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you focus on celebrating Jesus!

  1. Amen and God be praised! You cannot think of Christ in the manger without acknowledging that he came to be Christ on the cross. So grateful! This year, we really delved into some more “preparation” for his birth, more focus on reading the accounts many times, less focus on ourselves and what we want. We didn’t fully succeed (IE mommy failed a LOT:D) but it is a journey. Thanks for sharing, found you through TPT!
