Weekend Prayer Wall {Jan.14-15}

It is in the field of prayer that life’s critical battles are lost or won. We must conquer all our circumstances there. We must first of all bring them there. We must survey them there. We must master them there. In prayer we bring our spiritual enemies into the Presence of God and we fight them there. Have you tried that? Or have you been satisfied to meet and fight your foes in the open spaces of the world?~ J. H. Jowett

Those persons who know the deep peace of God, the unfathomable peace that passeth all understanding, are always men and women of much prayer.~ R. A. Torrey

Jesus was telling them a parable about their need to pray continuously and not to be discouraged. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people. In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him, asking, ‘Give me justice in this case against my adversary.’ For a while he refused but finally said to himself, I don’t fear God or respect people, but I will give this widow justice because she keeps bothering me. Otherwise, there will be no end to her coming here and embarrassing me.” The Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. Won’t God provide justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he be slow to help them? I tell you, he will give them justice quickly. But when the Human One comes, will he find faithfulness on earth?” (Luke 18: 1-8, CEB)

He [Jesus] taught them, “Hasn’t it been written, My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations? (Mark 11:7, CEB)

Thanks be to you, our Lord Jesus Christ,
for all the benefits which you have given us,
for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us.
Most merciful Redeemer, Friend and Brother,
may we know you more clearly,
love you more dearly,
and follow you more nearly,
day by day.
Amen.
(Prayer of St. Richard)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s pray in Jesus’ name!

Now it’s time for you to jump in with your prayers/prayer requests in the comment section.  Let’s also pray for each other! Someone will pray for you/with you. (Because this is a global prayer wall, sometimes – due to the time differences – prayers are not instant. But know that God hears you 24/7! BLESSINGS!

  1. Years ago, I was severely intimidated by the idea of praying in public. Our (very large) church offered an adult Sunday School class in how to pray, and I knew I needed to take it. There were five of us in the class  (adult classes normally had from 60 to 100). Every Sunday, for the next three months, our class spent an hour praying with, to and for each other, and for a lot of other people as well. It was the best Sunday School class I ever had.

    1. What a wonderful Sunday School class! There should be more of those because praying in public can truly be very intimidating. And yet praying is such an important part of Christian living. Thank you so much, Glynn, for sharing. Have a blessed weekend!

  2. Dear God,
I praise you for your loving-kindness!
Thank you for taking care of us
    and being in control.
Give us some needed rest this weekend, Lord.
    Renew us, restore us.
Guide our paths, open the right doors,
and keep the wrong ones shut.
May thy will happen in our lives.
    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen

    1. Lord,
We lift up Joshua and his family to you. We ask in Jesus name that Joshua would return back to you, Lord. You know him and you love him so much. Thank you that you are in control of this situation, too. Draw him back to you with your love and grace. Show him how much you love and care. Let him know that you have plans for his life and that those plans are the best for him. May Your will happen in Joshua’s life. Don’t let anything hinder Joshua’s return to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this day, the sunshine, the time with my family. Thank you for giving me the strength to move forward, to be the best mother I can be, and the ability to live, really live. Please help me to stay focused on You, to pray for my enemies, and to truly forgive those who have hurt me. Please show me what You want for my life. Thank you for loving me.

In Christ’s name I pray, amen

    Sally

  4. Father God, I believe Your Word, and that it does not return to You void. I believe that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever . I believe that divine healing is available today, just as it was when Jesus walked the earth. Just as the woman in the parable about the unjust judge, I continue to come to You asking for relief.

In the name of Jesus I ask for Your healing touch to remove the cancer from my body, and restore what has been destroyed by it. I ask for relief from the pain and torment of this disease, not only for me, but for others who are suffering from it as well. I pray that Your Divine healing will be manifested in ways that can only bring glory to You, as people are healed from many afflictions and diseases through prayer.

Thank You Lord for Your blessings, promises, and faithfulness. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

    1. Dear God, our Healer, I join in this prayer. Please, bring complete healing to this person. Comfort and strengthen through the treatments, give hope and joy in the midst of these struggles. Take care even of all the little details in this process. Thank you! In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
