Weekend Prayer Wall {Jan. 21-22}

Prayer means that I come in contact with an almighty Christ, and almighty results happen along the lines He laid down. – Oswald Chambers

All earthly things with earth will pass away; Prayer grasps eternity. Then pray, always pray! – E. H. Bickersteth

Don’t hesitate to be enthusiastic—be on fire in the Spirit as you serve the Lord! 12 Be happy in your hope, stand your ground when you’re in trouble, and devote yourselves to prayer. (Romans 12:11-12, CEB)

What should I do? I’ll pray in the Spirit, but I’ll pray with my mind too; I’ll sing a psalm in the Spirit, but I’ll sing the psalm with my mind too. (1 Cor. 14:15, CEB)

~~~~~       ~~~~~     ~~~~~
Circle me, Lord.
Keep protection near
And danger afar.
Circle me, Lord
Keep hope within.
Keep doubt without.
Circle me, Lord.
Keep light near
And darkness afar.
Circle me, Lord.
Keep peace within.
Keep evil out.
(David Adam)
May the blessing of light be on you – light without and light within.
May the blessed sunlight shine on you like a great peat fire,
so that stranger and friend may come and warm himself at it.
And may light shine out of the two eyes of you,
like a candle set in the window of a house,
bidding the wanderer come in out of the storm.
And may the blessing of the rain be on you,
may it beat upon your Spirit and wash it fair and clean,
and leave there a shining pool where the blue of Heaven shines,
and sometimes a star.
And may the blessing of the earth be on you,
soft under your feet as you pass along the roads,
soft under you as you lie out on it, tired at the end of day;
and may it rest easy over you when, at last, you lie out under it.
May it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it quickly; up and off and on its way to God.
And now may the Lord bless you, and bless you kindly. Amen.
  3. Please pray for Elaine’s family, friends, and church families as we celebrate her life and mourn her death. Elaine died suddenly on Tuesday in a car accident. She was 31 years old, an only child, and a recently installed pastor in a small rural church. Her parents are both believers (her mom became a pastor later in life), but her death makes my heart break. This family was very active in my church when I was growing up, and since Elaine was 6-7 years older than me, I always looked up to her. She helped with VBS, Sunday school, etc. and was always kind to me and to everyone. I really admired her and will miss seeing her. Thank you in advance for your prayers.
    1. Dear God,
      We lift up Elaine’s family, friends, and church families. They are mourning the loss of Elaine. It is hard for us to understand why Elaine’s life had to be so short. But we praise you even in the midst of sorrow. We ask that you comfort everyone who has been touched by Elaine’s life and death. Strengthen the hope of joyful reunion at Jesus’ feet. Pour out your healing grace, Lord! In Jesus’ precious name, Amen
    1. Dear God,
      Today we lift up Joshua to you. You know what’s going on in his life. Draw him back to you, Lord! Cut all the strings that keep him away from you. Give him a strong desire to turn back to you. Let him know that you love him and welcome him back with open arms. Thank you ,Lord, that you are in control of this situation, too. Bless him and his family according to their needs.
