Weekend Prayer Wall {Feb. 18-19}

Weekend Prayer Wall {Feb. 18-19}

“Grant that I may not pray alone with the mouth; help me that I may pray from the depths of my heart”~Martin Luther

“Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men! Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for power equal to your tasks.”~ Phillip Brooks

But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life! (Jude 20-21, MSG)

Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. (Romans 12:11-13, MSG)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Father,
give us wisdom to perceive you,
intellect to understand you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to behold you,
a heart to meditate on you
and a life to proclaim you,
through the power of the Spirit
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Benedict, 480-543)
Lord,
I know not what I ought to ask of you.
You only know what I need.
You know me better than I know myself.
O Father,
give to your child
what he himself knows not how to ask.
Teach me to pray.
Pray yourself in me.
(F.Fénelon, 1651-1715)
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s pray in Jesus’ name! Now it’s time for you to jump in with your prayers/prayer requests in the comment section (or link up your prayer post!). Let’s also pray for each other! Someone will pray for you/with you. (Because this is a global prayer wall, sometimes – due to the time differences – prayers are not instant. But know that God hears you 24/7! BLESSINGS!
    1. Gracious God, we bring to your daughter Cilda whose ankle is broken. We pray for the complete recovery for her. Heal her, bring people to help her out, give her patience during this time. We ask that something beautiful could come out of this time. Thank you that you are with her during this time of healing. In Jesus’ name, Amen
  1. Please pray for my son, Joshua, that he will turn from the direction his life is taking and turn back to the Lord.  Thank you!
    1. Dear God,
      We bring to you Joshua. Embrace him with your grace and peace and draw him back to you. Let him know that you love him beyond his wildest dreams and that your grace is stronger than anything in this world. Change his heart and let him turn back to you, Lord! Show him the way back to you, enable him to turn back to you. Thank you, Jesus! Bless Joshua and his family according to their needs. In Jesus’ name, Amen
      1. Father, we pray also for Joshua’s mother Janetta and for the other believing people in his life. Lord, grant them persistence in prayer and patient endurance as they wait expectantly for you to bring Joshua back to yourself. We ask that their words would be seasoned with salt and grace and that your Holy Spirit would provide wisdom and guide their every interaction with Joshua. God, we ask that you would change Joshua’s heart and perspective to see that nothing else in this world will satisfy him, that only you can fulfill his every need and desire. We ask that whatever might prevent him from turning back to you would be taken away. Lord, we ask that Joshua would see Jesus in his mother and in the other believing people in his life and that following you would be desirable to him. Father, we thank you that you are already at work in the hearts of everyone involved and that you long for Joshua to return to you even more than his mother does. Grant her peace and rest in you and surprise her with your grace and love. We pray waterfalls of blessings over Janetta and her whole family. In Jesus’ strong and precious name, we pray. Amen.
  2. Lord, thank you for the opportunity to gather here and pray together every weekend at all hours of the day and around the world. I’m so grateful for this international community of Christ followers who faithfully encourage and pray for one another. Father, we pray for all your children around the world: open our eyes, ears, and hearts to see and experience more of who you are. Grant us wisdom, understanding, and a willingness to obey no matter what the cost. Renew our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, that we would serve joyfully, give generously, and worship thankfully. Teach us to pray and teach us each how we can best serve you where you have called us to be. Thank you so much for the gift of Jesus and for all of the blessings you have bestowed on us through Him. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to commune with You and with others in Christ. It’s in His powerful and life-giving name we pray. Amen.
  3. Please join me in prayer for physical healing from serious chronic health problems, for some new treatments that I’ll be starting soon, and that my thoughts and attitude would be pleasing to God regardless of the challenges of these circumstances. Thank you.
    1. Yes, Lord, hear our prayer. As you know your daughter Sara is suffering from some serious chronic health problems. We pray for healing for her. We know you have great plans for her life and we ask that you would let these new treatments help her greatly. Restore her health, Lord. She wants to live for your glory. Bless her according to her all needs, known and unknown. Prepare her to face all the challenges, give her strength, courage, and healing. Enable her to find real joy in You in the midst of these hard times. Let her feel your presence strongly each and every day of her life. Guide her clearly, show her the path you’ve prepared for her. Embrace her with your grace. Thank you, Jesus, that you love Sara and show her tender loving care now and always. In Jesus’ name, Amen
