Weekend Prayer Wall {Mar 24-25}

God looks not at the elegancy of your prayers, to see how neat they are; nor yet at the geometry of your prayers, to see how long they are; nor yet at the arithmetic of your prayers, to see how many they are; nor yet at the music of your prayers, nor yet at the sweetness of your voice, nor yet at the logic of your prayers; but at the sincerity of your prayers, how hearty they are.  There is no prayer acknowledged, approved, accepted, recorded, or rewarded by God, but that wherein the heart is sincerely and wholly. ~Thomas Brooks

The prevailing idea seems to be, that I come to God and ask Him for something that I want, and that I expect Him to give me that which I have asked.  But this is a most dishonoring and degrading conception.  The popular belief reduces God to a servant, our servant: doing our bidding, performing our pleasure, granting our desires.  No, prayer is a coming to God, telling Him my need, committing my way unto the Lord, and leaving Him to deal with it as seemeth Him best.~A.W. Pink

Then King David went and sat in the LORD’s presence. He asked:    Who am I, LORD God, and of what significance is my family that you have brought me this far? (2 Sam. 7:18, CEB/1 Chronicles 17:16, CEB)

The believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers. A sense of awe came over everyone. God performed many wonders and signs through the apostles. (Acts 2: 42-43, CEB)

O Good Jesus,
let your voice sound in my ears so
that my heart and mind and inmost soul
may learn of your love,
and the very depths of my heart
be joined to you
who are my greatest delight and joy.
~Aelred Rievaulx (1109-67)

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what thou dost love,
and do what thou wouldst do.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Till I am wholly thine,
until this earthly part of me
glows with thy fire divine.

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with thee the perfect life
Of thine eternity.
~Edwin Hatch (1835-89)

  1. I am lifting up prayers this morning for Mari-Anna and her prayer ministry at Flowing Faith!  May God bless this ministry and encourage those who post prayers at this site.  I pray that the faith of the readers who come here is strengthened and miraculous answers to prayer are known.  “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20).  I pray this in your holy name, Amen.

    1. Dear God,
We pray for Sarah, Rachel and Leah whom you love very much. Draw them near to you and let them fall in love with you, Lord. You have beautiful plans for them, let only your will happen in their lives. We thank you, Lord, that you are in control of their lives. Bless them and their mother abundantly according to their needs. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  5. Thanks for your prayers last week when I was at the conference! God opened my eyes to some truth and new ideas, and I’m really excited to find out where He’s going to take me next! Please join me in prayer as I gather more information and make decisions about what to do and how to serve next year. And please keep praying for my health and treatments too. Thanks!

    1. Great news, Sara! Thank you for sharing. We continue to pray!

      Dear God,
Thank you for guiding Sara strongly. We ask that you continue to do so and make it very clear what is your plan for Sara for what to do and how and where to serve next year. Also continue to strengthen Sara’s health so she could give you 100%. I pray that you send the right people into Sara’s life and that you continue to bless her and keep her. Thank you that you have a beautiful plan for Sara’s life. Let her feel your strong presence and guidance in her life. In Jesus’ name, Amen
