Weekend Prayer Wall {Mar. 3-4}

Let us thank God heartily as often as we pray that we have His Spirit in us to teach us to pray. Thanksgiving will draw our hearts out to God and keep us engaged with Him; it will take our attention from ourselves and give the Spirit room in our hearts.~ Andrew Murray

Do not strive in your own strength; cast yourself at the feet of the Lord Jesus, and wait upon Him in the sure confidence that He is with you, and works in you. Strive in prayer; let faith fill your heart-so will you be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.~ Andrew Murray

I write these things to you who believe in the name of God’s Son so that you can know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence that we have in our relationship with God: If we ask for anything in agreement with his will, he listens to us. (1 John 5: 13-14, CEB)

“My plans aren’t your plans, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my plans than your plans.” (Isaiah 55:8-9 CEB)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O Lord,
I do not know what to ask of You.
You alone know what are my true needs.
You love me more than I myself know how to love.
Help me to see my real needs which are concealed from me.
I do not dare to ask either for a cross or for a consolation.
I can only wait on You.
My heart is open to You.
Visit and help me,
for the sake of Your great mercy.
Strike me and heal me;
cast me down and raise me up.
I worship in silence Your holy will and Your unsearchable ways.
I offer myself as a sacrifice to You.
I have no other desire than to fulfill Your will.
Teach me to pray.
Pray You Yourself in me.
Amen
~Metropolitan Philaret (1782-1867)
Lord,
keep me always near to you.
Let nothing separate me from you,
let nothing keep me back from you.
If I fall,
bring me back quickly to you,
and make me hope in you,
trust in you,
and love you for ever.
~E.B. Pusely (1800-82)
  1. Prayers for all the people in the midwest states (USA) that have lost their homes and lives due to the tragic storms this past week. Pray for God’s comfort and mercy upon these people.
    1. Yes, Lord! We pray for all the victims of natural disasters this weekend in the midwest states. Lives are lost, houses are gone. Show them your mercy and grace. Comfort them, let them feel your presence and find hope for the future.
      Inspire people to help and care for all the victims and their families. Help us all to understand that every day is a gift from you and enable us to be always ready to meet you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
  2. Dear God,
    I pray for all the readers and friends of this blog.
    Bless each of them individually according to their needs.
    Watch over them and let them feel your presence.
    Draw them near to you to bask in your grace.
    Empower them, inspire them, encourage them.
    Hear our prayer, Lord.
    Direct my path, open the right doors, keep me focused on you.
    Don’t let me to misuse time, energy or gifts.
    May Thy will happen in everything.
    Nothing more,
    nothing less,
    nothing else.
    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen
  3. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your unspeakable goodness and for the endless kindnesses that you so freely give us. Lord, we come to you with gratitude for all of the needs and desires that you have already met and exceeded, and yet there are so many others that we still long for you to fulfill. We are needy people, God, and we need you most of all. Empower us to wait patiently, seek persistently, and pray faithfully. Send your Holy Spirit flowing through us and overflowing to others. We pray that when others look at us and see how we live our lives, they would see Jesus and the peace, joy, hope, and love that only He can provide. Draw our friends, families, neighbors, coworkers, and others with whom we regularly interact to yourself, that they too would come to know you, love you, and follow you. Thank you for giving yourself to us so freely; we fall down at your feet in worship and give ourselves completely to you. Glorify yourself in us. In Jesus’ worthy name and for His sake, we pray. Amen.
  4. I’ve started my new treatments, so please pray that they would be effective against my debilitating chronic health problems and that I would approach them with a good attitude. I’ll be spending a lot of time alone, so please pray for peace, joy, strength, and my thought life. Thank you.
    1. Dear God,
      we pray for Sara as she has started her new treatments. We pray that these treatments would be very effective that Sara could see clear improvements in her health. We pray for healing, Lord. We also pray for patience for Sara that she could rest in your grace knowing that you have a beautiful plan for her life. That there is time for everything. Give her hope for the future, joy in the present. Bless her with new insights of your plans for her. Guide her clearly, Lord. She has given her life for you. Fill her with your joy, your peace, your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen
  5. Please pray also for American and European churches, that we would repent of our unbiblical and self-centered approach to the Gospel and that we would instead lay our lives down in humble submission to Jesus, just as He laid His life down for us. Lord, we pray for revival in our American and European churches. Send out your Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins, that we would find them as detestable as you do. Tear down the walls that we’ve built up around our hearts and soften our hardened hearts and critical minds. Destroy the cynicism, the exultation of self, and the lies that our cultures perpetuate and hold up as ideals. Father, we ask you to raise up a generation that would BE the church and would work to build up the body of Christ instead of complaining about everything they don’t like about the church but never doing anything about it. Lord, sometimes we your children feel like we are few and unable, but we trust in You because You are strong and more than capable and You delight in empowering us to partner with You and to glorify You. Even though the responsibility is great, thank you that we are never alone and thank you for that precious gift. Lord, we offer ourselves and our nations to you. Be exulted and forever praised in these places. In Jesus’ worthy and unique name, we pray. Amen.
