Drink Deep of God’s Kindness

Drink Deep of God’s Kindness

A cup of God's loving-kindness

Are you in need of a cup of kindness? Congratulations! It’s available! Come and taste God’s goodness and kindness. It lasts from everlasting to everlasting.

For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations. (Psalm 100:5, NASB)

God has been working behind the scenes for long time to get us out of dead-end, empty-headed lives. Now everything is ready in Jesus. By grace through faith in Jesus we are transformed into new life, real life.

So clean house! Make a clean sweep of malice and pretense, envy and hurtful talk. You’ve had a taste of God. Now, like infants at the breast, drink deep of God’s pure kindness. Then you’ll grow up mature and whole in God. (1 peter 2:1-3, MSG)

If you’ve ever tasted God’s graciousness,
it is time to make a clean sweep in your heart.
If you’ve ever tasted God’s goodness,
it is time to daily drink deep of God’s grace.
If you’ve ever tasted God’s kindness,
it’s time to grow up mature and whole in God.

Too often we think that it is enough to drink one cup of God’s gracious kindness. But it is not. Just like infants need feeding many times a day so do we need God’s grace. It is not enough to have once tasted God’s kindness. We are to feast on it every day. That is the only way to grow up mature and whole in God. Because God won’t force us to drink his pure kindness. It is up to us to drink deep his grace.

But, yes. Whenever you are in deed of cup of kindness…..it’s available. No matter how dirty or thirsty you are, you are always welcome to drink deep from God’s gracious kindness. And the more you drink God’s kindness, the more mature you grow.

How can we then drink God’s gracious loving-kindness in everyday life? By savoring the Word of God, by praying, by gathering with believers, by praising God, by trusting God, by practicing what we believe. Thus, our faith is being formed. Thus, our faith is growing mature. Thus, our faith is flowing. Thanks be to God!

I have trusted, leaned on, and been confident in Your mercy and loving-kindness; my heart shall rejoice and be in high spirits in Your salvation. (Psalm 13:5, AMP)

Gracious God,
Thanks for inviting all of us
to drink deep of your gracious kindness.
Teach us how to fully live in your grace.
We want to dwell in you forever.
We want to grow mature in Christ.
We want to be whole in you.
We want to share your kindness.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

  4. When we drink of God’s kindness and allow it to saturate our hearts, we become kinder with those we live with and touch. It can’t be bundled in a corner of our heart. It spreads, drawing others to our kind Heavenly Father. I rejoiced as I prayed with you in praise of God’s kindness.
