Have you changed a lot in the last 10 years? I bet you have. So have I. Do you think you will change as much in the future? According to a research people tend not to believe they will change that much in the future. But they will and we will. Change is inevitable. But we can decide into what direction we will change: God-ward or away from God.
Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. (Gal.6:7-8, MSG)
Would you like to fast forward into your future and see how it turns out? No need. God has a perfect plan for all of us. We can trust him to guide us.
How do we do that? Just like everything else in Christian life: by prayer. Because God forms us in prayer. By praying we become what God wants us to become. When we do everything prayerfully we can be certain we will be changing into the right direction.
Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. (Gal.6:5, MSG)
How do we do that? Yes, you got it: by prayer. When we bring our past hurts and disappointments to God, he will waste nothing. When we give God freedom to work freely in us, we can be certain everything will work out for good. When we want to serve God with everything we got, God will multiply the harvest.
When we give our best and our worst to God, we don’t know how amazing things he will do in us and through us. There is no limits to what God can do with a surrendered life. Just think about Saint Paul or Martin Luther King, Jr. for example.
God is waiting to change you. God is waiting to use your for his glory. How do you respond? Do you choose security over God’s will? Or are you ready to do God’s will no matter what? How do you do that? By prayer. Then it’s not you doing all the work but God through you.
We want to do the creative best with our own lives.
Show us what you want us to do.
We want to dedicate our lives to you.
Send the Holy Spirit work in us.
We want to do your will no matter what.
May our lives bring glory to you.
In Jesus’ name,
