Got Jesus?

Got Jesus?

Got Jesus?

We need to eat to live, grow, and get stronger. For this very same reason we also need Jesus. If we want to live, we need Jesus. If we want to grow, we need Jesus. If we want to get stronger, we need Jesus.

Jesus told them, “I assure you, it wasn’t Moses who gave the bread from heaven to you, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. The bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”They said, “Sir, give us this bread all the time!” Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:32-35, CEB, emphasis added)

Jesus really is the bread of life. Our need for Jesus is as elemental as our need for nutrition. In order to live, we need Jesus. And this life that Jesus offers is not just ordinary life. It is life everlasting. It is abundant. It it is everything we ever need.

But that’s not all, folks! We also need to keep growing and getting stronger. We need to eat the Word of God daily. The Bible is not just a cake for special occasions, it’s daily bread. The Word of God will enable you to grow and get stronger.

Only when you are spiritually well fed, you can rejoice in the midst of daily chaos. Only when you are spiritually strong, you can deal with anything you might face. Only when you’ve got Jesus, you can live abundantly.

Gracious God,
We come to you hungry,
feed us.
Give us the Bread of Life,
give us Jesus.
Make us alive,
make us to grow,
make us strong.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you got Jesus? Are you spiritually well fed?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you eat the Bread of Life daily!

  1. Lately when I make a sandwich I think of the passover supper and Christ’s body who was broken so I might have life. It’s humbling, liberating, and inspiring to be so loved! I pray we all understand the depths of His abundant love on a daily basis.

    God bless you!
