Shout Praises to God

Shout Praises to God

shout praises to God
I hope you are taking some time this summer to enjoy God’s creation around you. Don’t sleep walk through your life. Don’t forget to appreciate God’s handiwork. Don’t miss the gifts God is giving you. Seize the day, look around and be amazed. And don’t forget to shout praises to God.

Blessed be your glorious name,
    exalted above all blessing and praise!
You’re the one,
    God, you alone;
You made the heavens,
    the heavens of heavens, and all angels;
The earth and everything on it,
    the seas and everything in them;
You keep them all alive;
    heaven’s angels worship you!
(Nehemiah 9:5-6, MSG

God has not only created the world but he also takes care of the world. When we realize this it is easier for us to submit to God. If God takes care of the small creatures of the world, he will surely take good care of his children. God’s love frees us to enjoy life.

When was the last time you were belly laughing, did something just for fun?
When was the last time you truly enjoyed yourself?
When was the last time you took a  joyride with God?

Alice Walker in her famous novel The Color Purple writes “I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it.”

We were created to notice God and his love notes around us.
We were created to live in the present and see it as a gift.
We were created to life fully and enjoy God’s creation.
Especially we were created to shout praises to God.

Come, let’s shout praises to God,
    raise the roof for the Rock who saved us!
Let’s march into his presence singing praises,
    lifting the rafters with our hymns!

And why? Because God is the best,
    High King over all the gods.
In one hand he holds deep caves and caverns,
    in the other hand grasps the high mountains.
He made Ocean—he owns it!
    His hands sculpted Earth!

So come, let us worship: bow before him,
    on your knees before God, who made us!
Oh yes, he’s our God,
    and we’re the people he pastures, the flock he feeds.
(Psalm 95:1-7, MSG)

We are God’s people and he will take care of us. And this is not all. God wants to give us life upon life, grace upon grace, love upon love. And God wants our lives to brim with joy. Plenty of reason to shout praises to God!

Gracious God,
Help us to seize the day
and see you in the nature
and in the people you send into our lives.
Help us to submit control of our lives to you.
Enable us to enjoy life.
Let our lives brim with joy
and let us always shout praises to you!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you easily forget to enjoy small things in life? What does help you to seize the day?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you smell roses along the way and praise the Lord!
