God Will Not Let You Down

God Will Not Let You Down

God will not let you downAre you feeling the effects of Monday? Are you in need of a fresh supply of hope and encouragement? If yes, let’s turn our eyes on God. That’s where our help comes, day after day. God will never let us down.

I’m homesick—longing for your salvation;
    I’m waiting for your word of hope.
My eyes grow heavy watching for some sign of your promise;
    how long must I wait for your comfort?
There’s smoke in my eyes—they burn and water,
    but I keep a steady gaze on the instructions you post.
How long do I have to put up with all this?
    How long till you haul my tormentors into court?
The arrogant godless try to throw me off track,
    ignorant as they are of God and his ways.
Everything you command is a sure thing,
    but they harass me with lies. Help!
They’ve pushed and pushed—they never let up—
    but I haven’t relaxed my grip on your counsel.
In your great love revive me
    so I can alertly obey your every word.
(Psalm 119:81-88, MSG)

We need God to be revived and hope-filled in this hectic and demanding world.
We need Jesus to be redeemed and grace-filled in this harsh and merciless world.
We need the Holy Spirit to be restored and spirit-filled in this shallow and clueless world.

Because only God is permanent.
Only Jesus can save us.
Only the Holy Spirit can comfort us.

But rest assured, the triune God will never let us down. God will help us. God will pour out hope upon hope, faith upon faith, love upon love, grace upon grace according to our needs. When we live with God, we will never be short-changed. No matter what goes on around us. No matter what goes inside of us. No matter what we feel or what we have done or left undone. God will not let us down.

What you say goes, God,
    and stays, as permanent as the heavens.
Your truth never goes out of fashion;
    it’s as up-to-date as the earth when the sun comes up.
Your Word and truth are dependable as ever;
    that’s what you ordered—you set the earth going.
If your revelation hadn’t delighted me so,
    I would have given up when the hard times came.
But I’ll never forget the advice you gave me;
    you saved my life with those wise words.
Save me! I’m all yours.
    I look high and low for your words of wisdom.
The wicked lie in ambush to destroy me,
    but I’m only concerned with your plans for me.
I see the limits to everything human,
    but the horizons can’t contain your commands!
(Psalm 119:89-96, MSG)

We humans have limitations. But with God nothing is impossible. God is at work behind the scenes. The solution to your problems is on its way. The peace you’ve been praying for is yours in Christ. The right opportunities will present themselves soon. God is good, all the time.

Hence what is there for us to do today? Start with prayer, ask God to guide you today. Then keep alert to God’s guidance. There’s plenty to do to all of us: to love, to serve, and to share God’s goodness. And don’t forget to praise the Lord all day long! God will not let you down.

Gracious God,
We need you.
We want you.
Thank you that you’ll never let us down.
Embrace us with your love and grace.
Fill us with a fresh supply of hope.
Make us bold and courageous.
Enable us to love, serve, and share your goodness.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: What would you do differently if you were 100% sure that God will not let you down? Trust him. Go & do it!

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you follow God’s guidance even though it feels crazy!

  1. If only everyone lived their life by, and understood these words to be true: Because only God is permanent. Only Jesus can save us. Only the Holy Spirit can comfort us. Very inspiring post.

  2. Hi there, visiting from The beauty in His grip. Great post and yes, God will NEVER let you down. Again today He showed me He is fully aware of where I am and what I am going through and HE DID NOT LET ME DOWN. God bless and thank you for the reminder
    Tracy 🙂

  3. Thinking about your question: what would I do differently if I were 100% sure…. That’s how I want to live my life, but I let fears continue to hang on in different areas, many still undiscovered I’m sure. But trusting his grace to continue shining the light. I appreciate your hope and message to continue trusting him always. Thanks for sharing those verses too. Seeing them in The Message always brings them back to life.

    Love this:
    “Because only God is permanent.
    Only Jesus can save us.
    Only the Holy Spirit can comfort us.”
    Amen.

  4. Stopping from Ann’s. What would I do differently? Be 100 percent committed to sharing the message of an unfathomable, abounding, endless love in the nature of our omnipotent, omniscient, Creator God. Be bold and passionate for His love and truth without regard to ridicule or persecution. Live 100 percent sold out to Christ. Oh to be that strong!
    Even a measure of that commitment is only possible through the grace of our great God. May His name be ever praised!
    Thanks for the wonderful encouragement, Mari-Anna.

  5. I love the message translation of these verses, “The wicked lie in ambush to destroy me,

    but I’m only concerned with your plans for me.

    I see the limits to everything human,

    but the horizons can’t contain your commands!”

    It reminds me of my own Bible Study today in Isaiah 41:8-10.

    we can trust in God’s word. When God says He chose us, we can trust that is the truth. When He says Not to fear, we can trust Him.

    He is soooo good!

    Thanks for this wonderful post. God bless.

  6. You write “No matter what goes on around us. No matter what goes inside of us. No
    matter what we feel or what we have done or left undone. God will not
    let us down.” I hold onto to that daily – and you quote, “If your revelation hadn’t delighted me so,

    I would have given up when the hard times came” – I wouldn’t want to go through any of this life without Him. I am so glad He doesn’t let us down. Thank you for this encouragement – l know it – but I so need it:)

    1. I am right with you. I would not like to live without Him either. And, yes, we all know it but we need to hear it over and over again. You know, I preach to myself when I write these post If that makes sense.Thank you kindly for your comment. God bless you richly!
