This is a bit funny post but couldn’t help it. The writing prompt today for Five Minute Fridays is “write”. And the one thing that entered my mind was a famous country song “Write This Down” by George Strait:

“Baby, write this down, take a little note to remind you in case you didn’t know,
Tell yourself I love you and I don’t want you to go, write this down.
Take my words, read ’em every day, keep ’em close by, don’t you let ’em fade away,
So you’ll remember what I forgot to say, write this down.

I’ll sign it at the bottom of the page, I’ll swear under oath
‘Cause every single word is true, and I think you need to know,
So use it as a bookmark, stick it on your ‘frigerator door,
Hang it in a picture frame up above the mantel where you’ll see it for sure”

Quite a love song, don’t you think? But do you know what? Write this down: God loves you even more. He wants you to “write this down” too. He wants you to know that his love will never fade away. That his love is for real, to keeps, through thick and thin. He wants you to write this down and use it as a bookmark and stick it on your refrigerator door. He wants you to remember that nothing will change his love for you. Nothing.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39, NLT, emphasis added)

So write this down: You are very special and precious beyond words. There’s nothing God would not do to have an intimate relationship with you.

With the words of Dieter F. Uchtdorf “Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God’s love encompasses us completely. … He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.”

I hope and pray that you will be able to know by observation and experience and believe this amazing love God cherishes for all of us.

And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. (1 John 4: 16, AMP)

My friend, write this down: God loves you! You are loved beyond measure!

 

Gracious God,
Enable us to understand, recognize your love for us.
Let us experience your loving presence in our lives.
Help us to write this down
that we would never forget your love.
Empower us to share your love with others.
Equip us to always live out your love and grace.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
