Grace Filled Exit

Grace Filled Exit

Grace Filled ExitAre you full of regrets of this year? Are you mad at yourself not doing more, achieving more or enjoying more? Are you looking for a graceful exit? How about a grace filled exit instead?

You see, hindsight is always 20/20. It is easy to say what one should have done. It is clear how things should have turned out. But life is not about hindsight.

Life is about leaning on God and giving our messes to Jesus. We can’t see the big picture beforehand but we can trust God and proceed prayerfully. Even when things don’t turn like we’d like, hope is not gone. It’s not time for a graceful exit. It’s time for a grace filled exit: We give our messes to Jesus and ask him to create something beautiful out of them. And Jesus will pour out grace upon grace!

We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan. (Romans 8:28, VOICE)

This applies also for you and this year. No matter how many regrets you have, Jesus is ready to deal with them. No matter how many messes you’ve made, grace is more powerful than any tangles. And there is always more grace than you need. No need to drag your baggage to the New Year.

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. (Gal. 5:1, NLT)

It is possible to make a grace filled exit of this year.
It is possible to start the new year with a clean slate.
It is possible to live fully and live free.
Thanks be to God.

Gracious God,
We come to you as this near ends.
We thank you for so many good things in our lives.
We also thank for challenges
and your continual presence in our lives.
But we also have some regrets and shame.
Forgive us for the messes we’ve made.
Cover us with your grace.
Cleanse us.
Give us a grace filled exit of this year
and a hope filled start for a new year.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

  1. This is such a beautiful post. Yes, may we give ourselves grace! May we each experience a “grace filled exit of this year & a hope filled start for a new year! AMEN!

  2. I’m a little late to come by but stopping in through Joan’s The Beauty in His Grip link-up. But since we are only a week in to the new year this is still a great reminder to give ourselves grace as we leave 2013 and begin 2014. Happy New Year!!
