Are You on the Way?

Are You on the Way?

on the Way
Are you on the way to meet Jesus? Like the wise men? Without waiting for 100% proof?

The wise men must have been on the road to pay homage to the new born king for quite some time now.  They most likely had known about the prophecy of Daniel and were familiar with the astronomy. But they were on the way to meet Jesus by faith. They did not wait for 100% proof before starting their journey to Jesus.

It has always been and still is about trusting God and his promises. Do we believe that God is going to do what he has said? Do we put our trust in God and get on the road? Do we wait patiently for God’s plan to be fulfilled? Or do we give up when the path gets rough?

Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised. For still a little while (a very little while), and the Coming One will come and He will not delay. But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him. But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery (perdition) and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul. (Hewbrews 10:36-39, AMP)

We indeed need steadfast patience and endurance to keep our hearts and minds open and ready to God. We need to trust and rely on God through Jesus Christ every step of the way. We need to stick it out and stay with God’s plan so we’ll be there for the promised completion.

Because as surely as Jesus was born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago, he will come again. We are not of those who will give up. We are of those who believe and will stick to Jesus no matter what.

Are you on the way? Or are you staying behind?

Bring us back to You, God. Turn the light of Your face upon us so that we will be rescued from this sea of darkness. (Psalm 80:3, VOICE)

God will hear us. He will not leave us alone on the road. We have brothers and sisters who are on the Jesus way with us.  We have the Holy Spirit who is cheering us on. And we have been blessed with the Living Word of God that will nourish and guide us along the way. We are in good hands. And we are on the way to meet our Savior!

Are you in? Are you on the way?

Gracious God,
We want to meet Jesus.
We want to trust you
and keep walking towards you.
Empower us to hope unswervingly.
We dump our doubts to you,
restore our joy of salvation.
Fill us with your grace and peace.
Guide us clearly
and lead us home to you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

  1. Count me in, Mari-Anna! Yes, I’m on the way too. So thankful Jesus is our Way. “He will not leave us alone on the road. We have brothers and sisters who are on the Jesus way with us.” Amen.

  2. I’m on the way! And so grateful for this journey! Your post also got me thinking about a phrase that I love. It is from a Christmas movie about Santa (I know, lol…) But, the quote is so true regarding our faith in Christ. Here it is: “Seeing is not believing. Believing is seeing!.” I am believing and because of that, my faith has grown and I see!

    Blessings Mari-Anna!

    In His grip, Joan

    1. Thank you, Joan, for sharing your thoughts and insights. Your quote reminded me of Augustine who has said “Understanding is the reward of faith. Therefore, seek not to understand that you may believe, but believe that you may understand.”Thanks for being on the way with me. I appreciate your companionship! Big blessings on your faith journey!

  3. Great post!

Something happened today that made me think of how unfair this world is. We try to do what’s right and it just doesn’t matter. Life isn’t fair.

So your scripture really jumped out at me. The just live by faith.

By faith I will keep on following Christ, even if it doesn’t seem to be getting me anywhere in worldly terms.

My life is hidden in Him, I don’t need to worry about justice. He is my justice!

    Thanks for lifting my spirits.

    1. Thanks for sharing, TC. This is why we need each other on the way! When I can’ make any sense of life, I just surrender my messes to God and ask him make something beautiful out of them. We can’t but God can. Encouraging and uplifting blessings on your way, sweet friend!
