When You Feel Lost

When You Feel Lost

When you feel lost
Are you feeling lost in your life? A bit overwhelmed and disoriented? Then take a pause. Get away for a few days. Or take an evening stroll somewhere. Seek silence or solitude. But know that the main thing is to know that even though you feel lost….you are not lost from God.

God’s love is meteoric,
    his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
    his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
    nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
    slips through the cracks.
(Psalm 36:5-6, MSG, emphasis added*)

Nothing gets lost in God. Not even you, no matter how lost you feel. When you know this, you don’t need to panic when you feel lost. All is well, God knows where you are and what’s going on in your life. And he even has a workable plan for you. So when you feel lost, take a pause. Take a step back and ask God to help you and let God show you what he has in mind for you.

Gracious God,
Help me!
I feel lost, hold me tight!
Give me rest, bless me.
Give me peace, calm me.
Give me purpose, guide me.
Thank you for always being there for me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: What do you do when you feel lost?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you live knowing God’s got your back.

  1. Mari-Anna, I love the translation of that verse from The Message. Thank you for sharing that. This was my day yesterday and pray was the only thing that got me through it. I had to fight my own faith shortcomings, but in the end saw God do His amazing work – yet again. Blessings to you today!

    1. Yes, the Message version is powerful. And, yes, we all do have these days and seasons when we feel lost. Thank GOD he is ever with us and guiding us back on the track. And, yes, yes, yes, God is beautifully at work in you. God bless you, Amy!
