Resolution for Life

Resolution for Life

Resolution for LifeDid you make any New Year’s resolutions? I have made one New Year’s resolution. It’s always the same. No matter what others do. No matter what’s going on in the world. No matter what’s going on in my life. It’s always the same. It’s resolution for life.

But me? I will hope. Always.
I will add to all your praise.
(Psalm 71:14, CEB)

I will not give up hope in Jesus. No matter what others do.
I will hope continually. No matter what’s going on in the world.
I will keep hope alive. No matter what’s going on in my life.
I will keep on hoping. No matter what.

Because God’s promises are always valid.
Because when I have only Jesus, I have everything.
Because the work of the Holy Spirit steadies our restless souls.

So we aren’t depressed. But even if our bodies are breaking down on the outside, the person that we are on the inside is being renewed every day. 17 Our temporary minor problems are producing an eternal stockpile of glory for us that is beyond all comparison. 18 We don’t focus on the things that can be seen but on the things that can’t be seen. The things that can be seen don’t last, but the things that can’t be seen are eternal. (2 Cor. 4:16-18, CEB)

When we live out our hope in Christ, our spirits are renewed everyday.
When we abide in Christ, heaven is with us wherever we are.
When we turn to Jesus with our troubles and joys, we experience God time after time. When we keep on hoping, when keep on believing, everything is well with our souls.

Life with Jesus.
That’s what I want.
I will keep hope alive.
That’s my resolution for life.

Gracious God,
Thank you for supplying us with plenty of hope.
Thank you for pouring out grace upon grace.
Thank you for having amazing plans for us.
Thank you for always keeping your promises.
Fill us with hope, love, faith, joy, and peace.
Enable us to be beacons of hope in this world.
Strengthen our resolve to be always yours.
We praise you forever and ever!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
