I Am Yours, Lord

I Am Yours, Lord

I am yours, LordDo you surrender to Jesus daily? Good for you if you do. It does not have to be anything extravagant. We can just whisper “I am yours, Lord” and experience God’s sweet, loving presence right then and there.

I am Yours, therefore save me [Your own]; for I have sought (inquired of and for) Your precepts and required them [as my urgent need]. (Psalm 119:94, AMP)

When we breath in the Spirit of God, we breath out our worries, regrets, and anything that tries to hold you a hostage. Repeat it until all the negativity has disappeared and you experience the peace of the Lord.

I practice this in my life (and I’ve written a blog post about it called Practicing Surrender in Slippers, you might want to check it out). The beauty of this daily surrender is that it invites God into our daily mess. And God makes all the difference in our lives.

And this surrender prayer does not require even much time or eloquent words. You can do it even on the run. But it blesses any day. So don’t leave your home without having surrendered your day to Jesus.

Of course it’s even better if you have time to linger in God’s presence in prayer. Add some Bible-reading and your faith is fortified beyond your expectations. But the main thing is to rededicate our lives to Jesus daily. We will never outgrow our need of grace. But the good news is God loves to pour grace upon grace on us. We just need to ask for it as our urgent need. Daily.

Gracious God,
I am yours.
I am yours and
I need your grace.
Pour out grace upon grace.
Wash me clean.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit.
Be with me today and always.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you say “I am yours, Lord” daily? Why/why not?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you surrender to Jesus daily!

  1. What a powerful way to start the day, just saying that simple prayer. He really does make all the difference. Since I have been starting my day with Him lately, rather than squeezing Him in somewhere, my day has changed on so many levels.
