God Does Not Quit on You

God Does Not Quit on You

God does not quit on youDo you have any projects on the back burner? Or have you abandoned some all together? Sometimes that happens. We start something with great enthusiasm but then life happens, there’s not enough time or energy to complete what we begun, so we quit. That’s very human, I think.

That’s why we might assume that God would do the same to us. That he’d be excited about us for a while and then give up when we’re not that promising after all. But that’s not how God works. God does not quit on you. No matter how badly you fail.

I’m sure about this: the one who started a good work in you will stay with you to complete the job by the day of Christ Jesus. (Phil. 1:6, CEB)

God who began this good work in you will make sure it will be finished too. God does not quit on you. He won’t give up on you. You might give up on him, but God does not quit on you. Ever. How wonderful is that?

This knowledge – that God does not quit on me – gives me the needed confidence boost. God will keep on working on me as long as it takes. God’s good plans for me will come true. I can’t spoil those plans. God rules and his will will happen in my life. How wonderful is that?

Gracious God,
You are so good to me.
Thank you for not abandoning me.
I want nothing but your will, Lord.
Finish what you’ve started in me.
My heart rejoices:
“My God does not quit on me”.
Hallelujah!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you know that God does not quit on you? How does that make you feel?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace God’s faithfulness!

  1. Hooray! I am thankful. I recognize that I don’t display grace and kindness consistantly, and that makes my witness ineffective quite often. I long to reflect Christ and trust that He is still working!

  2. I gain lots of comfort from that verse. So glad to wake up and see it here this morning, Mari-Anna. Knowing that God won’t give up on me, but will finish what he started, is a great truth to carry into my week. Have a blessed one!

  3. Thanks for the reminder Mari-Anna – God’s goodness is a constant under-girding everything.
