God Is Greater

God Is Greater

God is greaterHow great it is to be alive! We are so blessed. Life is a gift. And even that is not the end of God’s gifts to us. He sent his only Son to get us out of trouble. Because of Jesus we can exchange our shame, pain, and guilt to freedom, joy, and everlasting life.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
(2 Cor. 5:17, AMP)

This verse reminded me of a Mercy Me song: He Is Greater. The lyrics tell us such a powerful story. God is greater than anything in this world. Grace is grater than any of our sins. We are God’s own precious children and we are safe in God’s arms.

Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind]. (1 John 4:4, AMP, emphasis added)

Bring your tired
And bring your shame
Bring your guilt
And bring your pain
Don’t you know that’s not you’re name
You will always be much more to me

Every day I wrestle with the voices
That keep telling me I’m not right
But that’s alright

‘Cause I hear a voice and He calls me redeemed
When others say I’ll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
In the world
In the world
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world

Bring your doubts
And bring your fears
Bring your hurt
And bring your tears
There’ll be no condemnation here
You are holy, righteous and redeemed

Every time I fall
There’ll be those who will call me
A mistake
Well that’s OK

‘Cause I hear a voice and He calls me redeemed
When others say I’ll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
In the world
In the world
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world

(He’s Greater, He’s Greater)

There’ll be days I lose the battle
Grace says that it doesn’t matter
‘Cause the cross already won the war
He’s Greater, He’s Greater

I am learning to run freely
Understanding just how He sees me
And it makes me love Him more and more
He’s Greater, He’s Greater

I hope that you will learn to run freely with Jesus. God is greater than anything in this world. Rejoice! This is the day God has made. We are his children and he is our God. Nothing better. Nothing grater. Thanks be to God!

Gracious God,
You are so good to us.
Thank you for loving us.
Thank you for taking our shame, guilt and pain
and giving us freedom, joy, and everlasting life.
Your grace is stronger than any of our sins.
You are greater than anything.
You truly are amazing.
Thanks for making us yours.
Enable us to obey and serve you as you deserve.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you believe that God is greater than anything? How does that make you feel?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you let God mold you into anything he wants you to be!

  1. I love that 2 Cor. 5 verse in the amplified version. The picture of us being grafted onto Christ is powerful. Glad to have found your blog.
