Shine, Glow, Reflect

Shine, Glow, Reflect

Shine, glow, reflectWe are called to shine. But not to attract attention to ourselves but to God. We are called to shine for God. What does it mean? How could we glow for God?

We can’t make ourselves glow but because God is full of glory, all we need to do is to reflect his light to the world. The more time we spend with God, the more we shine for God. The more God exposure we have, the more we reflect God’s glory. And that is a wonderful thing.

But the wisdom from above is first pure [morally and spiritually undefiled], then peace-loving [courteous, considerate], gentle, reasonable [and willing to listen], full of compassion and good fruits. It is unwavering, without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile]. (James 3:17, AMP,*)

When we reflect God’s light in the world, then we are becoming peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. This process is a miracle because the only thing we do is to abide in Christ. All these good thing appear in our lives miraculously, by God’s grace.

We are called to reflect God’s glory. But it really is God who does all the work through us. First, God saves us. Then he transforms us. We are blessed beyond measure.

Gracious God,
Thanks for loving us so.
Thanks for calling us to shine for you.
Thanks for being the Light in our lives.
Enable to reflect you beautifully.
Transform us according to your will.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you shine, glow or reflect?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you reflect God’s glory to the world!

* [As you might have noticed, I enjoy reading the Bible in different translations and love comparing them. I have started linking the Bible verses to Biblegateway.com so you can easily read (and compare) them in the different versions I’ve used while preparing each post.].
