The Makings of a Great Year
January 8, 2016 Christian living

The Makings of a Great YearHow has the new year treated you so far? Do you have particular plans? Do you know the makings of a great year? If you do, then it’s easier to make it happen, don’t you think? So let’s see what are the makings of a good year. It shouldn’t be that complicated, should it? And it’s not, believe me.

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. (Matthew 6:33, AMP,*)

When we put God first, everything else will follow. The difficult thing here is to do it wholeheartedly. And every single day of the year. But if we do this. If we surrender to God in prayer every morning, our year will be great no matter what.

A great year is not (necessarily) a successful year. A great year is one lived with God.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world [wealth, fame, success], but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26, AMP,*)

Sure, we can make plans and set up goals to achieve things. We just need to do it prayerfully and listen to God.  We need to put first things first, then we are on the right track. When we do put God first, everything else will work out too. Because when you invite God into your year, he will supply all the rest of the makings of a great year.

Hence kiss goodbye to the stress and worries, welcome the great year God is unfolding before your eyes. Enjoy the ride! And praise the Lord!

Gracious God,
You are so good to me.
Thank you
for reminding me of the importance of putting you always first.
You are the answer I’m looking for.
You give the breath of life,
you are the creator of a great year.
Come and do as you please in my life.
May you get all the glory.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you embrace the makings of a great year?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you open your heart for God’s plans for you!
