How to Build a Beautiful Life

How to Build a Beautiful Life

How to build a beautiful lifeDo you rush around like crazy? Trying this and trying that? And nothing really comes together anyhow? Have you thought about asking God in what you’re doing? Have you thought about beginning with a prayer? Or – this is even a wilder thought – have you thought about laying down your own agenda asking God what and when and how he would like you to proceed? Because that is how to build a beautiful life.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
    the builders labor in vain.
(Psalm 127:1, NIV,*)

Unless the Lord builds your life, you labor in vain.

If God is not with you, you indeed labor in vain.
If God is not building up your life, all you create is chaos.
If God is not work in your life, nothing will do any good.

Hence, first of all (if you want to build a beautiful life), start everything with God. Second of all, wait for God’s timing. Don’t rush before God, his timing is perfect. With the words of T.D. Jakes “Timing is so important! If you are going to be successful in dance, you must be able to respond to rhythm and timing. It’s the same in the Spirit. People who don’t understand God’s timing can become spiritually spastic, trying to make the right things happen at the wrong time. They don’t get His rhythm – and everyone can tell they are out of step. They birth things prematurely, threatening the very lives of their God-given dreams.”

It is indeed hard to wait. But while we wait, we are being prepared for the tasks ahead of us. While we wait, we can rest in God and enjoy life. While we wait, God is hard at work for each one of us.

So whatever you do, ask God to build it for you. If it’s God will, it will be built without stress and chaos, without you running around like crazy. God is in control. And his ways are much better than our ways. Seize the day, enjoy Jesus. That’s how you build a beautiful life.

Gracious God,
Thanks for being the boss.
Thanks for being in charge.
Forgive us for rushing around and not trusting you.
Teach us what it is to work with you.
Keep us from rushing before you.
Enable us to wait on your timing.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you know how to build a beautiful life? How is it going?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace Jesus every day of your life!

* [As you might have noticed, I enjoy reading the Bible in different translations and love comparing them. I have started linking the Bible verses to Biblegateway.com so you can easily read (and compare) them in the different versions I’ve used while preparing each post.].

  1. Thanks for sharing. Yes, building a heart to endure by waiting on the One who creates all things and by His will they are sustained. Great post! Blessings to you. FMF #11

  2. I explored a similar theme on my blog this week as I wrote about seeking God’s will for the rest of the year. This seems like confirmation. Thanks for sharing! (Here from Faith Filled Fridays, btw)

  3. “Seize the day, enjoy Jesus. That’s how you build a beautiful life.” AMEN May God give us patience to wait for His timing and may we seek His will in everything. Blessings to you, Mari-Anna! I’m your neighbor at #FaithFilledFriday.
