The Power of Grace Has Not Diminished

The power of grace has not diminishedSometimes you hear people saying that Christianity is not important any more. That the message of Jesus Christ is not that much needed in today’s world. That the power of grace is weakening or, at least, its not so meaningful any more. I could not disagree more.

The world seems to be going crazy. There hasn’t been a time when God’s grace was more needed than right now. And, for the record, the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ is not diminishing. It is ready and waiting for people who repent and (re)turn to God.

The Message is as true among you today as when you first heard it. It doesn’t diminish or weaken over time. It’s the same all over the world. The Message bears fruit and gets larger and stronger, just as it has in you. (Col.1:5-6, MSG)

We need to keep on fighting the good fight. We need to keep on believing and obeying the Word of God. We need to keep Jesus first in our lives. When we stick to following Christ even if no one else is doing so, our faith flourishes like never before and we can experience the power of grace larger and stronger in our lives.

This is the time in history we really need to practise what we preach. We need to love our enemies. We need to serve others like Jesus. We need to pray like never before.

There’s no time for playing Christians. It is time to live like disciples of Christ. Jesus needs to become central in our lives. It really is a matter of who sits on the throne of your heart: you or Jesus.

The power of grace has not stopped working. Jesus still saves. God’s grace still frees us from our sins and empowers us to live holy, serve bravely, and love dearly. The more we act like disciples, the larger and stronger God’s grace gets in us.

We are called to follow Christ, not just enjoy our little lives and sit on our hands. We are called to live in grace, grow in grace, and share grace with everyone we meet. Sure, it is a tall order. Impossible for us but easy for God. We just need to be willing to be used for God’s glory.

Gracious God,
We need you.
We need you to save us,
empower us, guide us,
inspire us, encourage us.
We need you.
But your grace is enough.
More than enough, thank you.
Pour out grace upon grace
and energise us for your work,
for your glory.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Have you experienced the power of grace in your life? Share it with the world!

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace God and what he is doing in the world!
