Encouraging Words

Encouraging Words

encouraging wordsIt’s not a secret that I love reading the Bible. There are many reasons of course. One of them is the surprise factor. You see, the Bible is the Living Word of God and when we read it prayerfully, the Holy Spirit surprises us time after time. The boring parts becomes precious, old things get new meanings and historical things becomes personal. Encouraging words for sure. Try it yourself. Keep at it regularly. And your life is not the same anymore.

Today I was blessed with these wise and encouraging words from the second Chronicles. These verses just popped out the page for me and I felt they were directed to me.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles. (2 Chronicles 32:7-8, NIV, emphasis added)

We don’t have anything to fear, folks.

We are never alone. Our God is with us and he is more powerful than anything in this world and beyond. Our God is a Living God who loves and cares for us. He will be with us every step of the way. We truly have nothing to fear. Instead we are called to be strong and courageous. Talk about encouraging words.

It’s time to not be intimidated by the obstacles we are facing. God Almighty is on our side. And that means nothing, absolutely nothing, can be against us. God is in control. God is ready to defend us and create a way for us. Hallelujah.

Here’s how I heard the verses above. These encouraging words are just for you, my friend:

Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid of discouraged because of [insert your troubles here], for there is a grater power with you. The Lord your God helps you and fights your battles.

Let us pray:

Gracious God,
You are so good to us.
Thank you for the gift of the Bible.
and for speaking to us through it.
Thank you for your encouraging words for us today.
Enable us to be bold and courageous.
Thank you for always being on our side.
Become our everything, Lord!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Why do you love reading the Bible?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you live boldly and courageously!
