Faith Makes Miracles

Faith Makes Miracles

Faith makes miracles

I saw this DaySpring eCard on my Facebook feed this morning. It has a quote by Tony Evans stating “Faith doesn’t make sense. It makes miracles.” What a beautiful thought. It gives us permission to relax in God’s grace. Faith doesn’t have to make sense. It is not of this world. But what really matters: faith makes miracles.

Faith makes miracles

It sounds a bit outrageous first, don’t you think? How could we produce miracles? Well, we can’t but God can through our faith. Faith is a gift from God and we are called to use it. Because faith is the way we invite God into our midst. Faith is not out of this world; it channels God’s power into our lives. That’s why faith makes miracles.

Jesus replied to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have faith [personal trust and confidence in Me] and do not doubt or allow yourself to be drawn in two directions, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen [if God wills it]. (Matthew 21:21, AMP, emphasis added)

It’s not about us, it’s about God

Our trust and confidence in ourselves do nothing. But our trust and confidence in Jesus and his power does make happen miracles. Hence we are called to exercise our faith, work with God. There’s a lot to do in this world. But do we let our doubts keep us away from God’s perfect plan for us? Do we let the enemy win by surrendering without trying? Let’s not wait for faith to make sense. That will not happen. But let’s take our faith seriously and let God’s power move wildly in our lives. You hear? Faith makes miracles.

Gracious God,
Forgive our little faith and forgive us for doubting your power.
We are sorry for not using our faith for your glory.
Come, Lord Jesus, and move mightily in our lives.
Change what needs to be changed,
heal what needs to be healed.
Open the doors that needs to be opened.
Bring grace, bring power, bring peace.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you use your faith for God’s glory?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you trust in Jesus’ power and exercise your faith!
