Do You Worry or Believe Your Prayers?

Do You Worry or Believe Your Prayers?

Do you worry or believe your prayers?Do you worry your prayers? Or do you believe your prayers? There’s a huge difference between these two prayer styles. The first one leads to death and the other one to life. God is willing to help us. He just wants us to ask in faith, without doubting God’s willingness to help. How you do pray? Do you worry or believe your prayers?

If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides]. (James 1:5-8, AMP)

Do you worry or believe your prayers?

As you see, God has promised to give guidance and wisdom to those who ask for it. And he does not give drudgingly but generously and without rebuke or blame. Quite a God, don’t you think? But we need to ask in faith and not in doubt. We need to believe in God’s willingness and power to help us. You see, our feelings will betray us, God will not. Hence we need to stick to God and not to our feelings, circumstances or doubts. Because the same God that created the world and rose Jesus from the grave is using the same power to work in our lives here and now too.

It’s not about us, it’s about God

There is no reason to worry our prayers. Because it’s not about us and our incapabilities. It’s about God and his power. God hears our prayers and responds to our faith in him. That’s why we can’t be double-minded. God is asking us to be his and believe in him without wavering. Let’s rejoice in being his children and trust him like children trust their parents. Then it’s easy to not to worry but believe our prayers. And that, my friend, makes all the difference.

Gracious God,
Thank you for being our loving Father.
Help us to leave worries and doubts at the cross.
Show us what it can mean to live in your grace
and not to worry but trust you completely.
Enable us to believe our prayers.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
