Encouragement for Your Faith Journey

Encouragement for Your Faith Journey

Encouragement for Your Faith JourneyWatchman Nee has said “The Christian experience is, from start to finish, a journey of faith”. I couldn’t agree more. First of all, we are on our way home. But also our faith is hopefully not stagnant but evolving throughout our lives.

Your faith journey is an adventure

Faith gives meaning and purpose to our lives. Most of all, it give us an eternal perspective. And that changes everything. This life is not all there is, there are better things ahead waiting for us. Our faith journey might once in awhile be hard but it’ll be worthwhile in the end. Alistair Begg urges us “Follow boldly in your Master’s steps, for He has made this rough journey before you. Better a brief warfare and eternal rest than false peace and everlasting torment.”

God is always with you

As we journey through life, it is important to know we are never alone. God is always with us. I think this is one of the most comforting thoughts on our faith journey. God is always with us, no matter what, helping us along the way. Here are three Bible verses to remind us of this fact:

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9, NLT,*)

I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20, AMP,*)

Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.
(Psalm 23:4, AMP,*)

God is ready to help you

God is there not just to oversee things but also to protect, guide, comfort, console, encourage, empower, help, cheer… This list is endless because God loves us and wants to be there for anything and everything we need. Remember: You are covered. Keep on walking on your faith journey while resting in God’s amazing and abundant grace.

Gracious God,
Thank you for always being with us.
Be praised for your lovingkindness,
for giving us what we need.
Help us to always remember that
we are on our way home to you.
Bless us according to your plan for us.
Take care of all of our needs.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: What does help you most on your faith journey?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace God’s grace for your strength for your faith journey!

* [As you might have noticed, I enjoy reading the Bible in different translations and love comparing them. I have started linking the Bible verses toBiblegateway.com so you can easily read (and compare) them in the different versions I’ve used while preparing each post.].

  1. Loved this quote: “Follow boldly in your Master’s steps, for He has made this rough journey before you.” Such a comforting thought to know that He is never surprised by what we are going through. He completely understands and is fully able to help us! Thanks Mari-Anna!

  2. I was blessed to read the Watchman Nee quote. My dad loved his books 🙂 I also loved reading the AMP version of Matt. 28:20. How precious to read the word “perpetually” as that sheds an entirely different light. Perpetually – there is never a time that He is not with us. His Presence with us is ongoing and that is both encouraging and a comfort today. Bless you!
