Jesus Is More than Enough

Jesus Is More than Enough

Jesus is more than enoughSome encounters have left me a bit dumbfounded lately. I’ve met some friends and acquaintances who are Christians and they told me they’ve been looking for answers for their problems from New Age or mindfulness or something else but not from Jesus. I find it very sad that Christians don’t know Jesus and his power. They haven’t learned to embrace Jesus for all who he is. Somehow, they don’t know Jesus is all they ever need. Jesus is always enough. Actually, let me tell you: Jesus is more than enough.

And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19, AMP,*)

Jesus is more than enough

Many Christians are happy to receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. But they think it all ends there. They think  they’re left to deal with their lives on their own the best they can. But that’s not true. That’s not all there is to faith, grace or Jesus. Not even close. Jesus is more than enough.

And this, so that I may know Him [experientially, becoming more thoroughly acquainted with Him, understanding the remarkable wonders of His Person more completely] and [in that same way experience] the power of His resurrection [which overflows and is active in believers], and [that I may share] the fellowship of His sufferings, by being continually conformed [inwardly into His likeness even] to His death [dying as He did]; 11 so that I may attain to the resurrection [that will raise me] from the dead. (Phil.3:10-11, AMP.*)

Faith is more than wishful thinking. And grace does not “just” save us from death to life but it also empowers us for Christian living. Jesus is not just a mere prophet, he is the son of God. Jesus is God. And his resurrection power is more than enough. Jesus is more than enough. Whatever your problem, Jesus is your answer. This might sound too simplistic but I’ve found it to be true. Jesus is all I need. Jesus is more than enough.

Gracious God,
Forgive us for not trusting you to be our everything.
Help us to believe that Jesus is more than enough.
Enable us to stake our lives on Jesus.
Let us experience your resurrection power in our lives.
Make us more Christ-like every day of our lives.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you believe that Jesus is more than enough or do you look for answers elsewhere? Why/why not?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you learn to know and trust Jesus with all your problems!

  1. Great post, and very important questions.

I think that people try to look past Jesus because the message today has been corrupted; one hears far too much of the prosperity gospel, and certain pastors saying they have God’s favour because they found a parking spot at a crowded mall.

I’m dying of pancreatic cancer. Does that mean I’m cursed, compared to these – sorry – nitwits?

The search for an alternate solution, I think, comes from this kind of hijacking of Jesus. It doesn’t reflect the real world, and folks want something that does.

Sad thing is that 90% of Christian thinking over 2000 years is exactly what they’re looking for.

    1. Thank you, Andrew, for your thoughtful comment. Sorry to hear about your illness but, no, it does not make you cursed. It makes you human.

You’re right, people are looking for an alternate solution because they can’t see the relevance of faith. Too much silent knowledge that does not get passed on. I’ll try to do better and help people to see the relevance of Jesus in every day matters.

Blessings to you, brother. You’re gaining more Christ soon. See you at Jesus’ feet one day. Healing angels and resurrection joy!
