Life Inspired by the Holy Spirit

Life Inspired by the Holy Spirit

Life inspired by the Holy SpiritInspiration is a wonderful thing. Without it, any creative work would be nearly impossible. My ultimate inspiration comes from the Lord. Like James Stalker has said, “How poor a guide enthusiasm is when it is not informed with the mind and spirit of God.” We need the Holy Spirit to guide us and inspire us. Hence, my agent of inspiration is the Holy Spirit who breathes life into me and through me. Without him, any spiritual life would be impossible. Religiousness without the Holy Spirit does not cut it for me. Life inspired by the Holy Spirit is life at its best, it’s what life was meant to be. And that’s what I want. Thankfully, that’s what God has in mind for us.

[I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. 18 And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people), 19 and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. (Eph. 1:17-20, AMP, emphasis added.*)

Life inspired by the Holy Spirit is what I want.

I am learning what it truly means to live in the Spirit. Only when I am filled with God’s grace, I am inspired and able to live to the fullest. Otherwise, doubts and worries steal my inspiration and motivation. I am nothing without Jesus. Truly, I need the Holy Spirit to be spiritually alive and well. Blessedly, that’s what God wants for each of us. He has prepared the way for us to intimately commune with him. The more we live in the Holy Spirit, the more inspired and blessed we are. Because life inspired by the Holy Spirit is loving, serving, sharing kind of life. It’s living like Jesus. Not by our own power. But by the power of the Spirit.

Gracious God,
You have prepared everything for us.
Forgive us for not taking up on your offers
even when we know it’s best for us.
Fill us with your Spirit!
Show us what it really means to live inspired by the Holy Spirit
and empowered by your grace.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: How does your life inspired by the Holy Spirit look like?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you let the Holy Spirit inspire and guide you every step of the way!

* [As you might have noticed, I enjoy reading the Bible in different translations and love comparing them. I have started linking the Bible verses toBiblegateway.com so you can easily read (and compare) them in the different versions I’ve used while preparing each post.].

  1. I didn’t learn about the Holy Spirit until I became an adult. It’s been a truly life changing lesson. How I wish I knew at a younger age, this incredible gift had been with me all along. Thank you for your beautiful words about living an inspired life!

    1. That’s true: the Holy Spirit changes everything. And, yes, it is sad that there’s so much “silent knowledge” in Christianity that doesn’t get passed on any more. Thanks so much for your comment. Spirit-filled blessings to you, Candace!

  2. Mari-Anna,
I absolutely love this! YES! The Holy Spirit is our inspiration. Without Him, all is from the flesh and profits nothing. My prayer is that I learn more about hearing His voice in everything I do every day. It is challenging, but I am learning that when I don’t live there, He is letting me know, challenging me, and giving me grace on every side. Visiting fmf #72
