Spend Time in God’s Presence

Spend Time in God’s Presence

Spend time in God's presenceDo you have a lot of questions about life and faith? Are they keeping you away from God or are they bringing you closer to him? Don’t fight your questions, give them to God. He will answer them when you’re ready. Meanwhile, embrace your questions, live them and praise God in advance for answering you when the time is right. Instead of worrying about the answers, use your time more usefully: spend time in God’s presence. That’s from where all the blessings flow, also those that you didn’t know you needed.

Trust in him at all times, you people;
    pour out your hearts to him,
    for God is our refuge.
(Psalm 62:8, NIV)

Spend time in God’s presence

Ravi Zacharias has said “Having the answers is not essential to living. What is essential is the sense of God’s presence during dark seasons of questioning.” Faith does not always make sense. We can most often understand God’s reasons afterward but not while we are in the storm. Hence faith is trust that even though it might not yet make sense, it can make miracles because God is all-powerful.

But as for me, it is good to be near God.
    I have made the SovereignLord my refuge;
    I will tell of all your deeds.
(Psalm 73:28, NIV)

Coming into God’s presence is always worth it. The enemy tries to keep us away because he knows how powerful people who spend time in God’s presence really become. Charles Stanley states “We can be tired, weary and emotionally distraught, but after spending time alone with God, we find that He injects into our bodies energy, power and strength.” That’s what happens when we spend time in God’s presence. We are reminded how loved we are, how precious we are. And, especially, we are reminded how there’s nothing God wouldn’t do to keep us safe in him and that he is all-powerful to keep that promise. So, no wonder we are energized, empowered and strengthened in God’s presence.

Don’t pass by this

In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
(Psalm 16:11, AMP)

There’s nothing like spending time in God’s presence. Nothing. It’s the ultimate experience of the divine on earth. This is when God Almighty meets the human, this is when the unseen touches the visible world.

When we sit at the feet of Jesus, we are blessed beyond measure. Not materialistically. But spiritually. When we pray, we let God take action in our lives. We see God work in, for and through us. And that is when faith makes miracles. In and through our ordinary lives.

Gracious God,
You are so good to us.
Don’t let anything keep us away from you.
We give up all our excuses and just run to you.
There’s nothing else we desire than you.
We surrender ourselves to you,
may your will happen in, for and through us.
Surround us with your grace,
let us feel your sweet presence.
Change us for the better.
May our lives bring glory to you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
