Too often we think it is our job to renew our mind. We put it on our to-do list and forget it under the pressures of everyday life. And the truth to be told, if it were up to me, my mind would never be renewed. I am not into religious performances. Rather, I crave for spiritual intimacy with our heavenly Father. If you’re with me, let’s find out how you can let yourself be renewed.
Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. (Eph. 4:23, NLT)
Let yourself be renewed
The key to spiritual renewal is to let the Holy Spirit renew our minds and attitudes. Hence it’s not about us, it’s about the Holy Spirit. It’s grace from start to finish. And an on-going process in between, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Of course, we can block the renewal by refusing to let the Holy Spirit work in and through us. God does not force us but it’s what’s best for us. Only by letting yourself to be renewed and filled with the Holy Spirit daily can we fight the good fight. Because we can’t but God can. Hence when we let God’s power to work in us, even impossibilities become possible. That’s how Christian living is done. By the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Eph.3:20, NLT)
So let’s enjoy life empowered by the Holy Spirit. Let’s be all that God has created us to be. Not by our own effort but by God’s glorious grace. This kind of life is meant for all the children of God and not just for the selected few. So let yourself be renewed and embrace God and receive all that he has for you. He is our good, good Father.
Let us pray
You are so good to us.
Thank you for calling us to be your children
and NOT leaving us to perform
but giving us your Holy Spirit to work in and through us.
Please, do not stop your work in us.
We surrender to you and
ask you to do whatever you feel is the best for us.
Empower us with your amazing grace
to respond to the promptings of your Spirit.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Q4U: Do you let yourself daily to be renewed by the Holy Spirit? How does it feel?
Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you enjoy your life with the Holy Spirit!
