Dare to Share

Dare to Share

Dare to ShareSometimes we don’t want to share because we are afraid of not having enough left to ourselves. Does this sound familiar? We might not even realize it but our instinct is to look merely out for our personal interests. Not much sharing then. And when we do not share, we are not fully living. Because life is about compassion and caring not about cumulating stuff and resources. Dare to share. Because we are called to do so.

Therefore if there is any encouragement and comfort in Christ [as there certainly is in abundance], if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship [that we share] in the Spirit, if [there is] any [great depth of] affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love [toward one another], knit together in spirit, intent on one purpose [and living a life that reflects your faith and spreads the gospel—the good news regarding salvation through faith in Christ]. (Phil.2:1-2, AMP,*)

Dare to share

Sharing is caring, it’s living out our faith. It’s trusting God to take care of us. Hence we don’t have to build walls around us. Instead, we can share and love and care. The Bible story that comes into my mind (Matt. 20:1-16) is about the workers at the vineyard receiving the same amount of pay at the end of the day no matter when they came to work. When I was younger this used to puzzle me. But since then I’ve learned that grace is generous and daring. It does not cling to rules and regulations or how things have been done previously. Grace radically shares itself with everyone. And, miraculously, there is always enough for everyone.

This is true in your life too. You can be generous because your heavenly Father is generous. Hence no need to live in fear that there will not be enough left for you. Live in love instead. Be compassionate and generous. And prepare to be surprised. Because you will receive more than you give. Love has a tendency to grow when shared. Grace multiplies many times over when passed on. So dare to share. Dare to live the good life with God.

Gracious God,
You’re so good to us.
Help us to share your goodness with others.
Make us generous like you.
Help us to kick the fear out of our lives and
live in love instead.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you dare to share? Why/why not?

P.S. The site is under construction, please be patient. Feel free to comment and give advice!

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you quit living in fear of not having enough and embracing life in love instead!
