Live by Faith

Live by Faith

As we rush into the New year, let’s not forget the blessings what God has bestowed upon on us. Faith is not just something for holidays. It’s meant to be lived every day. Only then we really receive those blessings. Faith is not an abstract notion or a theological argument, it’s a belief in God’s love and care. And then living as we believe. Live by faith. Consistently.

For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises] (2 Cor. 5:7, AMP,*)

What does faith mean in your life? Does it change your approach to life? I hope so. If faith is part of your life equation, you can live boldly. How come? Let’s take an inventory of why living by faith is worthwile.

Live by faith

First of all, because you are loved and cherished, you don’t need to prove your worth or pretend to be something else. Your value comes from being a child of God. Nothing can take it away. Live that truth, it changes your life. Then you’re able to live by faith.

Second of all, you are not fighting the world alone. Jesus has promised to be with you until the end of the world. So do not be afraid. Jesus lives in you. So it’s never you against the world, even if it feels like it. It’s you and Jesus, fighting your battles together. And when you remember that, there really is no reason to despair. Embrace that hope and you will be living by faith.

The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever. (Psalm 121:8, AMP,*)

Third of all, God takes care of you. He will bless and protect, guide and provide. You can count on that. So stop worrying and start praying and praising. Your life is in God’s hands. Hence relax, rejoice, and revel in him. Live by faith.

Gracious God,
Forgive us for forgetting what’s faith is all about.
Let us not get so busy that
we don’t have time to meet you in the midst of it.
Because only you have the words of eternal life.
Only you can breathe life in us.
Thank you for the gift of faith,
now help us to live it out,
constantly.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you live by faith?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you stake your life on Jesus!
