Sometimes we make simple things complicated. Unfortunately, we do that to faith too. And by doing so we create a new religion of works. But salvation is really simple. So simple that even a child can understand. It’s based on the work of Jesus, not ours. Because Jesus died for our sins, we can be saved by grace through faith in Jesus. We just need to believe. And stand by faith.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9, NIV)
Believe and stand by faith
It seems almost too simple, don’t you think? Can we really be made right with God Almighty by simply believing? Is this thing called grace a bit too good to be true? We certainly don’t deserve it but, nonetheless, it is true. And it is free and it has no end.
God wants everyone to be saved. But because we are unable to save ourselves, he had to send his son to be sacrificed for our sins. It’s all done, we just need to believe and stand by faith. How do we do that?
How do we do that?
Indeed, how do we do that? How do we stand by faith? Especially when we might feel very weak in it. We stand by faith by asking for more faith. You know, faith is God’s gift for us from the beginning. Jesus is ‘the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity]‘ (Hebrews 12:2, AMP).
Did you catch it? Jesus is the perfecter of your faith, not you. Hence you have not been left alone to stand by faith. You will receive as much faith as you need, just ask for more [like the man with the epileptic son did: “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24, NIV)]. Also, ask for as much grace you need, not just to survive but thrive.
You are truly amazing.
Your love for is boundless.
Thank you for caring for us so much.
We believe you raised Jesus from death
and we surrender to you.
Empower us by grace,
inspire us by your Spirit,
enable us to stand by faith.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Q4U: Is Jesus your Lord and Savior! Congrats! Now live with Jesus and boldly stand by faith!
Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace Jesus as your Lord and Savior!
