What’s your take on the Bible? How do you approach it and what kind of role does it play in your life? I believe the Bible is the Word of God and that’s why I want to read it and study it. But it’s not just an old book. The Bible is alive and active even today. And that changes everything, doesn’t it?
For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. (Hebrews 4:12, AMP,*)
This is the most amazing thing: God speaks to us through the Bible. It’s our way of communicating with God and that’s why it is so precious. Sure, it is exciting to study the Bible and learn fascinating things about it, how things are interconnected and how the whole salvation plan is weaved in the whole Bible. But what makes me fall in love with the Bible is the fact that the Bible is alive and active.
With the words of Martin Luther, ‘The Bible is alive, it speaks to me; it has feet, it runs after me; it has hands, it lays hold of me’. This is my experience too. That’s why I can’t get enough of it. When I don’t have time to sit with it, I miss it. The more I read it, the more I want to read it. And every time I get to read it, I am truly blessed.
The Bible is alive and active and it wants to be that in our lives too. If we let it happen, the Word of God will change us. I don’t think there is anything more exciting than experiencing the power of God’s Word in our own lives. Hence I recommit myself to Bible reading even more diligently. Why don’t you join me?
Thank you for giving us your word and speaking to us through it.
Draw us into reading the Bible more and more.
Open our spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear what you’re saying.
Thank you for wanting to communicate with us.
In Jesus’ name,
Q4U: How do you approach the Bible? Does it speak to you?
Blessings to you, my dear fellow pilgrim, as you
