Good News for All Who Walk in Darkness

GOOD NEWS FOR ALL WHO WALK IN DARKNESS

It feels like darkness was overcoming the world, doesn’t it? Just look outside. It’s the darkest time of year. Without snow and sunshine, it’s pitch black. Also, all kind of hate speech is increasing, right? Malice seems to take over us. Today is also Friday the 13th, many people are afraid of evil forces. Spiritual darkness seems to be spreading. But I have good news for all who walk in darkness.

The people who walk in [spiritual] darkness
Will see a great Light;
Those who live in the dark land,
The Light will shine on them.

(Isaiah 9:2, AMP,*)

Darkness is not winning even if it does look like it. God sent Jesus into the world to be our light. And nothing dims that light. Ever.

The Light shines on in the [adarkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it]. (John 1:5, AMP,*)

Good news for all who walk in darkness

Because of Jesus, we don’t have to fight against the darkness – whether inside or outside of us – alone. The battle has already been won on the cross. We just need to believe. Jesus can cleanse us and make us shine.

I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes and trusts in Me [as Savior—all those who anchor their hope in Me and rely on the truth of My message] will not continue to live in darkness.(John 12:46, AMP,*)

So no matter how dark our surroundings get or how much gloom is inside of us, do not despair. Jesus can help you. He can illuminate your life.

For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine;
The Lord my God illumines my darkness.
(Ps.18:28, AMP,*)

We can’t shine on our own because we do not have light. But when we choose Jesus, he shines his light on us. There’s nothing in this world that can help us but Jesus. But he will if invite him to do so.

Dear God,
It feels like darkness is swallowing us.
Thank you, Jesus, for saving us from it.
Shine on us!
We want to bask in Your light!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
