What do you wish for Christmas? The most amazing gift is peace of God. It’s something the world can’t give you. Peace the world gives is something you get when you are able to retreat from your troubles. God’s peace is so strong you can feel a deep peace even in the midst of chaos. How can we attain it? By receiving it in Jesus.

For a child has been born for us,
    a son given to us;
authority rests upon his shoulders;
    and he is named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:6, NRSV)

When we accept Jesus, we receive peace. It’s peace beyond understanding. We are overtaken by understanding we’re dealing with the Holy Truth. Already in the Old Testament, it was prophesized Jesus will bring peace. This wondrous peace is meant for us, let’s receive it.

This One [the Messiah] shall be our peace. (Micah 5:5, AMP)

This Christmas I hope you can experience Peace. I don’t wish you any such peace you get when nothing bothers you at the moment. Instead, I wish you peace beyond understanding, such peace that makes you aware of God’s goodness and grace.

Peace of God

Jesus is Prince of Peace because he enabled – with his death and resurrection – peace between God and man. We receive inner peace as we confess our sins and ask forgiveness in Jesus’ name.

The will of God is that everyone could have peace. First between God and man, second among men. Peace among men is not always possible but even then we can experience God’s peace because it is not dependant on circumstances or the state of our relationships (or lack of thereof).

God’s peace is a complete awareness of all being well even when things outwardly aren’t so. That’s why God’s peace is possible even in sickness, pain, war or loneliness. God’s peace is beyond understanding, it doesn’t follow along with any certain program or logic. Instead, it surprises, woos and inspires wherever Jesus is. Because God’s peace is Jesus. It’s his presence: joy, light, hope, and awareness of our Redeemer being alive and him not being a stranger to us but the chosen one of our hearts.

Dear God,
We praise you and rejoice in you sending us Prince of Peace.
Without Jesus, our life would be full of darkness.
Thank you for Jesus bringing us joy, light, and hope but especially making peace possible between you and humankind.
Give us Jesus, give us your peace and everything that comes with it, give us everlasting joy.
In Jesus’ name,
