Nothing Surprises God

Nothing Surprises God

Nothing surprises God

Do you like surprises? I guess it depends on whether they’re good or bad. And, most importantly, whether you trust God or not. Life is full of twists and turns for sure. How we react to them depends on how certain we are about God’s will happening in our lives and how certain we are nothing surprises God.

Because nothing surprises God. You can count on that. And he has a plan for our lives. You might wonder why he does not stop the bad things for happening for us. But we are not in heaven yet, tough things are part of life. And with God, we can get through them.

Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
for the Lord will be at your side
and will keep your foot from being snared.

(Prov. 3:25-26, NIV)

Nothing surprises God

God is our security. The world and everything in it changes but God does not. We can’t surprise God but God constantly surprises us. He initiates good things and helps us to grow and navigate hard things in our life. God is the anchor for our soul. In Him, we are safe and secure.

When we trust God, we can take surprises in our stride. God is with us and he will see us through. Not necessarily the way we would prefer but the best possible way. Our understanding is limited but God knows everything. So when something unexpected happens, take it as a chance for God’s light to shine brighter.

It’s true: when you don’t have to cover all the bases all the time as a precaution, you can enjoy life more fully. Nothing surprises God so you can relax. All is well and will be well. Not easy but you can count on God always being there for you. And God will never leave you short-changed. Open up for his blessings.

Gracious God,
Thank you for always being there for us.
Help us not to forget that.
Enable us to stop worrying and start trusting you more.
Help us to relax and enjoy life more with you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
