Surrendering to God Brings Blessings

Surrendering to God brings blessings

Do you think the talk about God is good as long as it does not demand you to alter your way of living? That’s how we think of most of things, right? All is good until it tries to limit our life. We think any restrictions will spoil everything we have. But new and different do not – most often – equal bad or spoiled. Especially when it comes to surrendering to God and obeying his will. It’s the best thing we can ever do. It will pleasantly surprise us time after time.

Surrendering to God does not take away our personality or diminish our value or take away our uniqeness. Why would God destroy what he has created? He has created you to be you. What surrendering to God will do though, is to make you even more of you. More of real you, the way God intended you to be. And that’s what we have always wanted but have not known how to achieve it.

For through the Law I died to the Law and its demands on me [because salvation is provided through the death and resurrection of Christ], so that I might [from now on] live to God. I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Gal.2:19-20, AMP,*)

Surrendering to God brings blessings

Every time we surrender to God, we become more of us. In Christ we find freedom and boldness to live fully. God’s will towards us is good. He does not want to restrict us from doing what we were meant to do. Instead, he wants to empower us to do exactly that. God wants us to blossom not whither away.

When we surrender to God our life gets vivid colors. Why would we live in a black and white world when God offers us life in splendid colors. We can’t see it beforehand but we will be blown away once we’ve surrendered. We need to trust God to bless us when we come to him. It can be scary, of course. But I don’t know anyone who had complained they took the plunge. So I dare you. Surrender your heart, your life to God and experience life at its best.

Gracious God,
Thank you for being better than we can imagine.
We want to surrender but we are scared.
Take away our fears and empower us to let go of our need to control.
Help us to surrender to you.
Thank you for not taking our personality away but enhancing it.
Thanks for making us more of us.
Help us to blossom for your glory.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Are you scared of surrendering to God? What made you to take the plunge? How has your life changed after surrendering to God?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you enjoy your life even more after surrendering to God!
