How to Blossom and Flourish

How to Blossom and Flourish

How to blossom and flourish

We all want to blossom and flourish, right? Maybe the desire to do so is especially evident in the deep of winter. After frozen months, we’re ready to see some color, also in our own lives. How then could we blossom and flourish? What should we do to live colorful and fulfilling lives?

You won’t get a detailed to-do list if that’s what you were thinking. Instead, you’re just encouraged to abiding in Christ. He will take care of the rest on your behalf.

“Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me. “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. (John 15:4-5, MSG,*)

How to blossom and flourish

So if you want to blossom and flourish, abide in Jesus. Have an intimate and organic relationship with him and you will bear a lot of fruit and your life will be filled with meaning and purpose. But, as the Bible puts it, apart from Jesus, you can’t produce a thing.

Sometimes it seems we try to do anything but abiding in Jesus to blossom and flourish. Somehow our thinking is all twisted like abiding in Jesus would drain the last drop of our creativity and fun. But we could not be further from the truth. You see, all the good things flow from God.

So if you want to blossom and flourish, take care of your relationship with Jesus. Cherish the vital union with Christ. Spend time with Jesus and you will bear much fruit and live colorful and fulfilling lives.

Live in Jesus, and all that is his is yours. No shortcuts available or needed, we are just called to live in Jesus. And we can’t earn our way to blossoming or flourishing either, we get there simply by abiding in Christ. So let’s linger in the presence of God, continually commune with him, and share our lives with him. We will never be shortchanged. Instead, we will blossom and flourish in his care.

Dear God,
Under your love and care, we will indeed blossom and flourish.
Thank you for your lovingkindness.
Draw us to you and show us how we can have an intimate and organic relationship with you.
Because that’s what we want,
we want to be blessedly united to you.
Bless us, Lord, and use us for your glory and to bless others.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
