Often we wonder how God guides us, how we will know if something is God’s will, right? We tend to make it something complicated yet it really isn’t. When we are tuned in to God, he does stir us to do the things he wants us to do. God moves our hearts to move us. Just like he did in the times of Ezra.

Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites—everyone whose heart God had moved—prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. (Ezra 1:5, NIV)

God moves our hearts to move us

So. How can we be one of whose heart God movies? Easily. By abiding in Jesus. Daily. How do we do that? Through prayer, reading the Bible, obedience in the small stuff. When our heart is tuned in to God, he is able to guide us without us even knowing it.

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. (Phil. 2:13, NLT)

God shapes us, our thought patterns, attitudes, and beliefs to align more with his. In our hearts, he encourages, motivates, and gives us the desire and the power to do what pleases him. So God moves our hearts to move us.

I have always desired to be one of those people, how about you? The Holy Spirit stirs in us the desire to hear from God. Then we turn to God and he does the rest. Simple, beautiful, effective. Hence we can leave all the worrying behind. God’s got this. When you’re tuned in to God, all is well.

Dear God,
You are marvelous.
We praise you, we love you, we bless you,
and we want to be those people whose hearts you move.
Stir our spirits, motivate and encourage us to do your will
because we know it is the ultimate best for us too.
Bless us according to your plan for us,
use us for your glory and for the benefit of our neighbors.
In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen

P.S.

Isn’t it wonderful how perfectly God provides for us? Do remember, this does not mean you do nothing. Your number one responsibility – and the greatest privilege – is to be tuned in to God, do not forget to abide in him continually. Enjoy his presence and get to know him intimately! Blessings upon blessings!
