Last week, I was preparing a talk for the last Sunday of the church year and as I read a little background on the text of the Old Testament book of Daniel, I came across these insanely wonderful verses. They spoke to me right away and I feel like this will bless you too. Believe me, my friend, you are dear to God.

Then the one (Gabriel) whose appearance was like that of a man touched me again, and he strengthened me. 19 He said, “O man, highly regarded and greatly beloved, do not be afraid. Peace be to you; take courage and be strong.” (Dan. 10:18-19, AMP)

Fortunately, we have a loving God who has promised to take care of us. Who works behind the scenes for us, who has a plan for us and for the world, and who is the Lord of the universe. We don’t have to worry, we get to rely on him and ask for his help and guidance.

You are dear to God

The most wonderful thing about all this is that this almighty God loves us and personally cares about each of us. Therefore we also receive these words of the angel Michael: “Fear not, you who are dear to God. All is well. Take courage and be strong!”

I love to be dear to God. How about you? This comforts, encourages, and reminds me of the strong hope we have in Jesus Christ. You are dear to God, my friend. God wants you to embrace, bless, and comfort you.

Also, know that this strength that is offered to us is the grace of God. It does not urge you to try your hardest on your own strength but it invites you to receive the power of God for which anything is possible.

The difference between one’s own strength and God’s strength is immense. You are not a good Christian if you persevere on your own (even if you’ve been taught that way). For as long as you try to make it on your own, you will tell by your actions that you do not need God and would rather kill yourself by worrying or trying on your own than ask for God’s help. This is not God’s will for you. He wants to provide for you.

My friend, you are dear to God. Receive the grace of God and undeserved love. That’s where life begins, in the arms of our Father God. You will be empowered by the Holy Spirit and refueled with any blessings you need. Then you can continue your journey with joy.

Dear God,
Thank you for loving us.
It is incredibly lovely and it is empowering to know that you, Almighty God, are on our side.
We need you, Lord, we can’t go on without you.
But with you, we can do anything because you empower us.
Thank you for giving us real hope and endless encouragement.
Bless us and lead us according to your will.
Thank you for claiming us as your children.
In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen

P.S.

Isn’t it wonderful that you are dear to God! You are a treasure! You are the reason why Jesus came into the world to save you for eternal life. And you don’t even have to wait for the afterlife to experience the love of God, he’s with you right now. The Holy Spirit will guide you and grace is at your disposal. You are not alone and you are not helpless. And you are not without resources because God is with you and has prepared the way for you to walk. So, be blessed, my friend. Rejoice that you are dear to God. Rejoice that the Lord of all world history is with you and this God Almighty also loves you fervently!
